Ch 1. Too Long
The night air was cold against my face. As I walked across the street from the library, I seated myself on a cold park bench. I had no jacket and the air was crisp, biting at my face like a hungry animal. The fight between my parents earlier was too bad, I had to wait it out before I went back home. I pulled a book of poetry out of my pink tote bag and began to read in shivering silence.
"Elena?"
I knew that voice.
"What are you doing out here with no jacket?! Its below freezing at least!"
Harry.
I glanced up and saw him cheekily smiling at me. His hands tucked away in his pockets, his hair perfect as always.
He was always perfect.
"How did you find me?" I teased him.
"You're always here. Take my jacket and I'll drive you home." He pulled off his coat and handed it to me in one swift angelic movement.
"I can't go home."
"My house it is then." I loved that Harry never asked questions, he understood me.
I pulled on his coat, warm and soft. It smelled of his mucky scent and I inhaled deeply. Harry grabbed my hand and we walked towards his house, the house I knew oh so well growing up. I intertwined my fingers with his.
"I missed you so m..."I trailed off, holding back tears. The last time I saw Harry I sat weeping on his doorstep as his car pulled out of the driveway.
"It hasn't been that long." He had no idea how much I loved him.
"It's been too long Harry." I started to cry and he embraced me in his arms. These arms had carried me through so many rough times.
I collapsed on the sidewalk Harry still holding me tight. I let out every tear I had been holding in for three months right there in the arms of my once best friend.
Ch.2 Katie's house
I remember spending all night on that sidewalk. As I dozed off I dreamed of Harry. In my dream, he just stood there. Staring at me. God his eyes are gorgeous. He smiled at me. I missed that smile. Then he glanced to his right and a girl came and settled herself beside him, linking her arm on his. This beautiful girl was not me. She looked at me with utter disgust and laughed in my face. He leaned in to kiss her when...I woke up screaming. I was in Harry's bed.
How the hell did I get here?
I rolled over. I could smell his scent on the pillow. As I glanced up to see the time, I saw a note on the side table.
Dear Lovely,
You really are gorgeous when you sleep. I miss you next to me. I've gone to pick us up coffees. I called your parents and told them where you were. Make yourself at home.
Love, Harry.
I quickly sat up and slid out of bed. I had no clue when he'd be back. I was still fully clothed. At least Harry was no sick-o. I pulled on my vans. I walked to the door and slowly opened it. Nobody was home. Thank God. I found my bag on the chair in the foyer. I took my cell phone out. Six missed calls from my mom. Oh well. I dialed Katie and it went to voicemail, as usual. Harry only lived a few blocks from her. I could walk. I stepped out of the door of his small abode, homey and inviting, his parents were in India for the summer. The morning air was brisk and almost comforting. I would kill to be jogging right now. It only took me a little while to reach her house. Great. Louis' car is outside. I walked up to her large victorian house. The windows were large and the entire house was white. It looked like it was built in the 1800's. Katie's mom answered the door.
