Chapter 3

Ring, ring

Finally the home bell! I gathered my papers from the student council room and headed out the door. It was a beautiful evening, the sun was just setting over the horizon leaving a golden glow in it's wake. I hummed to myself as I walked to the train station. I glanced at my watch, it read 6pm. I just had half an hour to get to my after school job. I hope the chief is in a good mood today. Suddenly the train pulled up in front of me, excellent everything is going according to plan........... so far

The train stopped at Oakley street and I dashed off. Great only 1 minute till my shift starts. 30 seconds. 20 seconds. 10 seconds. And 3, 2, 1

" Eliza"

I slammed open the door and stood in the corridor panting

"H-here"

I'm pretty sure my face was bright red at the moment but I didn't care. I had made it to work on time

" There you are Eliza. I was beginning to think you wouldn't show, now get changed into your uniform!"

I nodded slowly and went to my locker. My uniform was hanging on the door, just as always. I scowled at the uniform, it looked so cheesy. And the boss was a total freak. I mean most café's would have a normal uniform, but this café just happened to be a cosplay café. The chief always believed in being original. You never get anywhere by following the crowd, she'd always tell me. I sighed and pulled on the uniform. This consisted of a black lacey dress, black choker, white hairband, black knee high stockings and brown shoes. Sometimes we'd hold special events such as a fortune telling themed day, childrens day, wizard cosplay day etc, etc. But the worst thing about this job is the way you had to act around the customers. You must call the men master, the women lady, and the kids either young master or lady. I swear thats the last thing I needed. Thank god I only had a 4 hour shift instead of the usual 6/7 hour shift

I emerged from the changing room and began my daily tasks. Such as taking orders, clearing away dirty dishes and greeting customers. I was just clearing a table when a customer suddenly walked in

" Welcome home master", I said smiling my brightest smile

The young man smiled at me and I directed him to his seat. My name isn't Elsa when I work here. It's Eliza. I explained my situation to the chief and she said she understood completely. You see because I'm the student council president most people would expect my afterschool job to be something more worthy of a president. But to be honest this was the only job I could get. The pay was actually quite decent for the amount of time I worked, and it wasn't to far away from the school. So it's kind of a win, win situation........I guess. Everyone here knows me as Eliza and I'm easily the most popular maid here. Sure I'm not overly pretty but everyone here thinks I'm drop dead gorgeous? When customers come in they can choose which maid to serve them. I'm nearly always called out to welcome the customers. My secret is just be friendly, smile and don't be impatient with them. All the guys seem to love me, but I hate them. They are all pigs but I need them to help me keep this job unfortunatley. After the last customer got up to leave, I went with him to the door

" Have a safe trip master", I said bowing

He smiled at me and walked out the door

I returned to my locker and was about to change when the chief suddenly appeared

" Hey Eliza could you do me a favour?"

I nodded my head

"Sure chief"

The chief pointed to the trash bag standing in the corner

" All the girls said your strong, but I can't lift the bag. It's just to heavy"

"Don't worry chief I'll get it", I said as I picked up the bag

I put the trash in the bin and leaned against the wall. It was so hot. Suddenly my face turned red. O no, it's that time of the month again. No not my period! I always get sick during the winter. My body just heats up

" Well, well look what we got here", a voice sneered

Damn people from school! But not just any people.......BOYS

" Who thought prez was working as a maid", jeered Flynn

I turned my back on them, trying to get to the back door but a hand grabbed me

" Hey your a maid right? Act like one!" another boy named Pitch commanded

I was too weak to fight back

" Hey lads!" Who would have thought Prez was actually a girl jeered Hans

They pushed me into the wall. This was it, I was done for. Flynn was about to touch me, when I was brought into a pair of arms that hugged me and pushed the trio back

"J-Jack", the trio stuttered

Jack shot them a death glare and they shot off

" Hey you alright?", that's all I heard before I blacked out. The last thing I remember is a scarf being wrapped around me
