Chapter 8

It was just another ordinary day at maid latté. The staff were kept busy and chief was as abnormal as usual. The door to the café opened, causing the bell above the door to ring. I hurried to greet the customer

"Welcome home ma"

I stopped mid sentence, surprised at this unusual customer

"Milady?", it came out more like a question to be honest

"Please follow me"

As I led the young lady to her table, I felt all the other customers eyes on me. Some were even whispering to each other. What was going on? As the lady sat down, a fellow customer came up to us

"Emm excuse me, but are you Aoi-chan the famous net idol?"

My eyes widened. Aoi-chan? I've never heard of this so called net idol. I turned to Aoi, and saw she had covered her face with her hair

"So there were this many people who were whatching me"

A smile spread across her face

"Aoi's delighted", she exclaimed tossing her hair out of her face

She looked adorable! The customers went wild. Especially the guys. Chief suddenly came out. Probably because of all the commotion

"What's going on?"

Aoi's face lit up when she saw chief

"Hi Sally!"

The chief's face became faint. She'd lost the colour in her cheeks

"A-Aoi-chan!"

It was getting pretty wild out here so I decided to bring Aoi into the backroom so she could discuss things with chief without being disturbed. After a few minutes we found out why Aoi decided to pay us a surprise visit. The chief was blue in the face explaining things to her

"You want to work here?! But I've already told you so many times no!"

The other kitchen staff came over to us, to see what was going on

"That's the chief's niece?", questioned Lily

I nodded my head in response

Lily beamed

"She's so cute!"

Chief was still explaining to Aoi

"Your only in middle school"

Aoi frowned

"So what I'll just skip for a while. Besides I've been exiled from my home", she said while beaming

The chief looked as if she was about to faint. Somehow she managed to regain her composure and headed to the break room

"If you'll excuse me I'm going to call my brother"

And with that she stormed off

I couldn't help but stare. Wow eccentric. I decided to look her up on the Web. I borrowed the work laptop and searched "net idol Aoi-chan" One link popped up, and that was Aoi's Rose-coloured diary. I opened up the file and found tons of pictures of her. In one she was making puppy eyes with her hands cupped under her chin. In another she was wearing a frilly pink dress, with matching shoes and a pink umbrella. And in another she was wearing an indigo dress, with her hair tied with matching ribbons. I think you get the picture at this stage! The kitchen staff crowded round me

"What an exhibitionist", exclaimed Lily

We all nodded in agreement. I walked up to chief, seeing as she looked a little quesy
