It was a cold day at Hogwarts, and Draco was sitting in front of the fireplace on the armchair, wrapped in a cosy, Gryffindor blanket, his potions book in hand. His eyes stung, he had not slept since Hermione got petrified. Nothing was fun without her. Just then, he heard Harry and Ron coming in from the portrait wall, "So much homework!" He heard Ron say.

"Hey Draco!" Harry said, "How come you weren't at breakfast?" "I wanted to study" Draco replied.

"Oh come on, don't we already have Hermione?" Ron asked. Draco and Harry laughed.

"Looks like you studied the whole potions book Draco!" They said, "Lets go and play Quidditch! We have a big match coming!"

"Nah! I don't feel like it." He replied. "Oh come on! Playing a game won't hurt! You are being so Hermione-ish!" Ron said

"No, I....." just then, Harry snatched Draco's book, and passed it on to Ron. Draco chased them around the Common Room for about an hour before he gave up and said, "All right! Lets go!"

At the end of the year, after Hermione (and all others who were petrified) were back, Dumbledore announced, ".....And as a school treat, all exams have been cancelled!"

"Oh no!" Hermione exclaimed as the rest of The Great Hall erupted in celebration.

Draco laughed, and looked at his friends, the three people who made his once empty life complete and helped him understand the true meaning of life and friendship.
