This One-shot here is your present from your Shuu. It somehow turned more into a Shuu x Reader, since I wanted to write it for you, but I hope you know, that with "you" I mean you and nobody else. The day started for you pretty similar to every other day, except that you were incredibly excited what would happen. It was your birthday after all and you dearly hoped that this wasn't forgotten.
Still lying in your bed, but already wide awake, you stretched yourself and yawned once more, before you sat up and your toes touched the fluffy carpet underneath your bed. You got up and walked over to your window, opening the heavy curtains to watch the last sunbeams disappear.

That was your day since you lived with them. The day turned into your night and the night became your day - you shared your life with vampires.
And one of them happened to became dear to you, more than any other person before in your life. It was the eldest of the Sakamaki brothers, Shuu.
You wouldn't go that far to say that you were a couple, you knew your place as his prey and play thing, but you loved him nontheless with all your heart and every fibre of your body.

"I hope he hasn't forgotten that it's my birthday..", you sighed to yourself. It wouldn't have been surprising for you if he had, you knew that he didn't care about such things like birthdays and holidays like Christmas.
But you had gathered the courage to write a very short letter to him with your wishes for your birthday and you really wished for them to come true.

"Well then! Let's get ready~" you hummed in delight, walked over to your wardrobe after a short bath and picked one of your favorite dresses, which you know would Shuu like as well. Combined with some legwarmers that reached up to your thighs against the cold, boots and a cardigan, you were ready for the day.

With a smile on your face you made your way to the bedroom of the handsome blond vampire to wake him up, already imagining a nice day together with him.
But when you opened the door you realized he wasn't there.
You wandered around the mansion, searching for him, but he was just nowhere to be found. Your expression turned into a sad one, ".. So he really forgot, huh..."

"Heh.. what did I forget, hm? ..", the deep voice echoed in your head and you spun around, looking straight in those ocean blue eyes.
"Shuu!" you exclaimed as you flung your arms around his neck and added in a sadder tone, ".. I was searching for you..".
"And I was waiting for you downstairs.. but I don't mind if you don't want to go somewhere else for your birthday.. in fact.. that would be less troublesome..".

"W-what? No! Shuu, please!" you replied to his little tease, falling for it again, as you did always. A smirk started to form on his lips and he ordered you to follow him, which you did in delight, happy about the fact that he hadn't forgotten that this was a special day for you.

After a short while you both arrived at the demon realm, the city, where the carnival took place, to be explicit.
And it was wonderful. It felt like a real date to you which you had never expected from the normally lazy vampire who always kept his emotional distance. But it seemed to you that he had put quite a bit of effort into planning this day for you, to make it a bit more special.
