I'm covered in blood.
Each person sleeps at the end of my white and black blades that dance and I could feel myself becoming colder and like a doll, without emotion reaping them.
Although they are not not dead, the field covered in fallen bodies is desolate and eerie.
I count.
10...9...8...7...6...5...4...3...2...
They all collapse on the ground, saving the last one for last.
I stared at the man who was shivering in fear.
"Cancel the spell."
"How could you?! You monster-"
Before his next predictable words came from his mouth, I slashed at his nerves and he fell in an unconscious state.
"Are you not the real monsters for trying to kill the innocents?" I whisper.
I looked upon the engraved magic circle.
Despite being unconscious, the spell was still continuously active. I grit my teeth as I cursed under my breath.
I stood at the middle of the circle, awaiting for Shiro and Kuro's transfer of power.
Immediately, power poured into my body, filling it up exponentially.
As the magic gushed, I chanted in succession three spells as I absorbed the mana in my body and converted it into the spells.
[Nullification]
[Disperse]
[Mind Breaker]
The spells quickly worked and discontinued the storms and lightning as well as prevented the spell from continuation. [Mind Breaker] puts the mind in a broken and mental state, preventing their subconscious from keeping the spell alive. Although, it takes a lot of power to use it on one and to do it on all twenty is terrifyingly exhausting.
I felt my sense of balance tilt and I began to fall. Fluffy fur cushioned my back as Shiro nudged me with worry.
"Its fine. You don't have to worry." I laid my hand on his head, gently patting.
"I'm strong."
Kuro took me by the collar of my shirt and tossed me in the air, catching me on his back. Shiro transformed into a small wolf pup and climbed aboard. For once, they weren't bickering which was quite the treat yet also disturbing since they weren't insulting each other.
While being comforted by the warmth of Kuro, I closed my eyes for a moment before asking him, "Has Theo responded?"
"No."
"Neh. Shiro? Do you really think this plan was as simple as it seems to be?"
"No. I detect malicious auras all over the capital. For once I agree with this idiot wolf. This place is brimming with impurities. Is there not a church here?"
"Yes. But surprisingly, if what you said is true, they should have detected it long ago due to their holy powers. Therefore, for them to not react is a bit unsettling."
"There seems to be more than meets the eye in the capital. I have a bad feeling, Rose. Shouldn't you just reject the request? Before you get more involved?"
I grasp the necklace that rests on my chest tightly. "I can't Shiro. This is too good of a chance to pass up."
"To pass up what?"
I hesitate before confessing a hint. "The whereabouts of someone."
"Who is this someone?"
"The thing is, I don't know who I'm exactly looking for either. But..." I stared at my necklace, "Wrath said, this necklace, is able to take me to him."
Kuro growled with suspicion. "You are sure this person is here?"
"I have a feeling, yes. But that's a side job. I have two main jobs, one from the Comenanci Family and the other is from Wrath."
Shiro barked with contempt. "Why are you even associated with that man. He's the Lord of the Underworld. What were you thinking when you accepted such a quest?"
"Well, he's nice. Also, he hasn't done anything to hurt me. He gave me this necklace to help me find someone. It's not a problem to be friends."
With disbelief, Shiro ignored me while muttering, "Your criteria for friends stinks."
"Kuro," I patted him. "Let's go home now. Shiro, do you want to return?"
"Just for today, I will allow Blackie to bask in my noble presence."
"Hey! Just-"
"You two. Why can't you get along with each other?"
I climbed onto Kuro's back with Shiro on tow and he shadow dived home. I arrived outside my bedroom window, still open.
I jumped over as Kuro transformed into a wolf pup.

The wolf pups both climbed and snuggled themselves into the blankets.
I slipped on a nightgown and fell onto the bed, with both of them by my side.
"Good night."

Once again, I'm running.
The rocks scratch my feet as I run through the endless forest. Running away from something. But I didn't know anything.
Fear was giving me infinite strength but I was quickly tiring.
Here I was on autopilot. I continuously screamed at my dream self inwardly. Keep going! Don't give up!
Emotions rush and despair replaces everything. Tears roll down my cheek and the darkness surrounds and encloses me further.
"Save me. Someone. Anyone. Please save me." I plead to nothingness. My arms hug my frail self in defeat and useless comfort, awaiting death.
I felt a hand on my back. I tremble and turn only to see a masked man in a dark cloak. He lifts me into the air with strong warm arms, holds me close and continues to run.
Silence was replaced by the rush of the wind and the crunching of leaves by footsteps.
Neither of us speak. He was bound to lose strength and momentum if he were to say anything. So, I transfered the little magic I could release to his body to keep him strong. A wordless thank you. He accepts.
We reach the end of the forest and the beginning of a path to a distant city.
The magic power that I couldn't release inside the forest erupts and gives me power. It entwines me in an embrace. Yet, I could feel myself at death's door. I collapse into the man's arms.
I couldn't understand.
Why was I dying? What was this place? Who was that man? Why do I feel so helpless?
My dream self touches the man's mask, my tears blurring my vision.
I apologize again and again. My heart beats for him, weakening with each beat. I slowly remove the mask, feeling his features with my cold hands. I couldn't see him at all. I could feel his grief and yet I couldn't do anything to relieve him.
My vision darkens and I breathe my last.
I die.

"Rose!"
A voice awakens me from my sleep. It was the middle of the night and I could feel the sweat on my forehead and back. Shiro and Kuro lick my tears that stain my face.
"I saw it again. That dream."
I could feel myself tremble. I felt frail and weak just like my dream.
Shiro and Kuro cuddle against me in comfort.
"Rose. We are here." Shiro transforms, and a humanoid with fluffy white wolf ears and a white kimono appears. Kuro follows, and a wolf with black fluffy wolf ears and black kimono appears. They hold me close and lull me into a deep sleep.

"Blackie. Her dreams are getting more frequent. Something is going to happen soon and I can't tell how bad it will be."
Shiro watches Rose with worried eyes while Kuro falls into a silent ponder.
"Should we contact the Elder? He might know what to do. We should contact Theo as well. He'll have the information and the potions for her to not have any dreams for awhile."
Shiro settles the blanket over Rose gently before responding.
"Kuro. I think we should stop her from accepting Wrath's request. That man is untrustworthy. Rose saved him once and he's just asked another favor out of the blue. He is too close to darkness."
"How do you expect to convince her? I'm tempted to kill him. We are stronger than him after all but if we do, there will be more chaos and disorder to expect. There's a reason why he is at the top. He's more powerful than the royal magicians combined. Besides, our powers are limited in this world. It can't be helped."
"Ugh. To make matters worse, we're lodging with a family that doesn't even care for her. She's becoming more like a doll. She might even lose all her emotions one day."
"Don't jinx us. I'm already having a hard time trying to get her from being involved with the capital. It reeks of poison."
Shiro ignores his complaints and lays down on the bed with an arm hugging Rose. Kuro does the same.
"We'll protect her."
Kuro agrees. "Yes. Until death do us part."
