McKenna wasn't the least bit surprised when she saw Sarah and Erica bickering down the hallway. Truthfully, it had become a bit of a regular occurrence.
"What? It's just cheerleading. I thought you said you wanted us to be normal," she heard Erica say as she made her way over to them.
McKenna glanced down the hall to see one of the cheerleaders knock binders out of a girl's hands, and she rolled her eyes. "Cheerleaders aren't normal! They're more evil than us and... we're vampires!" Sarah argued gesturing down the hall.
"Why would you want to be a cheerleader? You don't exactly have the peppiness and school spirit," McKenna said, looking at the blonde vampire. "I've always wanted to be a cheerleader, and now that I'm really hot, I can. Besides, these girls have been telling me to bite them for years," the blonde said, flashing her fangs and winking at the fledgling and vampire by her side.
"Yeah... I don't think that's what they had in mind," Sarah said. "Oh, come on. Who's gonna miss just one?" Erica pouted, then quickly walked off to the sign up table.
"I will!" Benny interjected, and McKenna and Sarah rolled their eyes. "Benny, you don't have a chance with any of them anyways," McKenna said, looking over at the girls. Her eyes landed on the one who seemed to be in charge, and she sensed something familiar about her, but she couldn't figure out what.
"Isn't this kind of like letting Magneto join the X-Men?" Ethan asked, drawing McKenna's attention away from the head cheerleader. "I'll assume that's 'geek speak' for a fox in the henhouse thing," Sarah retorted.
"Yeah, I watched the movies. Definitely a fox in a henhouse thing," McKenna added on, though her gaze didn't leave the head cheerleader. She knew she had seen her before, and her gut was telling her that it wasn't exactly a pleasant meeting.
"Well, someone's gotta stop her, I don't know about you guys, but I'm enjoying my peaceful week," McKenna said, finally pulling her gaze away and looking between her three friends. "Well, if you have any ideas on how to stop her, I'm all ears," Sarah said, looking at the vampire.
McKenna made eye contact with Benny and Ethan, then looked back over at the table. "Well, you could always," she trailed off, gesturing her hand in the direction of the table, the boys nodding in agreement.
"Yeah, you could join too," Ethan added on with a smile, and Benny was lost making googley-eyes at the girls. "No, no, no, no. There has to be another way!" Sarah eyes were wide.
The boys started to do a little peppy dance, and Sarah grabbed McKenna's arm. "I am not doing this alone. You're going down with me," she said, trying to pull the vampire towards the table. McKenna moved her hand away and shook her head. "That's gonna be a solid no from me, you gotta have a man on the outside," she said in defense.
