Chapter 5 - Surprise Surprise
~Carrie's Point of View~
I stripped down of my clothes and stepped into the shower. After I washed off, I got out and dried myself off with a towel. Then I put on the outfit Rydel had picked out for me. It was a really cute sundress. I dried off my hair as much as I could with my towel, then walked back to Rydel's room.
"You got done fast than I thought you would," she laughed, "Here, sit!" She pats a chair in front of a mirror. I sit down and she immediately gets to work. Pretty soon, she's done with my make up and is gathering her things to take a shower. I noticed a picture sitting on her desk. It was a picture of her, her brothers, and a little girl that looked exactly like me.
~FLASHBACK~
"I can't believe you guys are moving!" I cried once I heard the news about them moving to LA.
"I'm sorry," Ross whispered and rubbed my back. I was in Ross's room, crying because he was the one who had told me the news. The others chickened out because they knew I'd be upset.
"I'll wait for you!" I sniffled, wiping my eyes with my hands.
"I like you too much to put you through that," Ross told me.
"We haven't even dated yet and you're leaving!" I sobbed, "What if we meet again?"
"Than I promise to have that date," he promised, "I'll never like anyone the way I like you."
"Don't ever forget me," I whispered. He nodded and I kissed his cheek.
~END OF FLASHBACK~
Did I have some type of memory loss or something? How could I forget my first crush, my first best friend... And Rydel, my first sister. The rest of the Lynch family. My second family... How did it all disappear from my memory?
"Be back!" Rydel hollered out behind her with her clothes in hand and left. As soon as the door closed, it opened back up, revealing Ross.
"Hey," he smiled and sat on Rydel's bed.
"Hey," I say back with a smile. I felt something in the pit of my stomach and immediately felt shy. It almost felt like... Butterflies.
"What's up?" He asked, glancing around the room.
"Just getting ready to go shopping with Rydel," I shrugged, flattening the dress out on my legs.
"You look great," he complimented, looking from my head to my toes.
"Thanks," I blushed and look down.
"Let me rephrase that," he tilts my chin up, "You look beautiful."
"T-thanks," I blush again, "And thanks for taking me in."
"Hey, you needed somewhere to go, and now you have one," he grinned at me.
I giggled, "It means a lot, and what's even better is I'm starting to remember when we were little and how we used to spend so much time together."
"Ya know, I just had a flashback to when we were little," he smiled.
"That's strange because I just did too!" I giggled.
"Wow that is weird, besides Mom told me that we were best friends," he spoke, "She even said it tore her to pieces to have to split us up the way she did."
"I seem to remember everything now," I admit, "I remember everything I knew about you."
"You know, I remember you too, I just didn't want to creep you out," he chuckled, nervously.
