Chapter 6 - My Lips Are Sealed
(Italics means what's said inside their minds, not out loud, remember that throughout the rest of this story!)
~Carrie's Point of View~
It's been several weeks later since my first date with Ross. None of his family has found out yet even though we've been on four dates now. I don't even know what we are... He hasn't asked me to be his girlfriend. I mean, we kiss, we hug, we cuddle, but only when we are alone.
"What are you doing?" Rydel asked me, referring to the picture I was drawing at my desk.
"Just drawing," I replied simply.
"Wow, you're really good, you should put that in an art contest," she exclaimed. I was drawing a picture of the photo of the Lynches and me. I finished it off then put it into a folder I had gotten for all the drawings I had and placed it inside my desk cabinet that had a lock on it. I tend to keep my private stuff in there and no one else seems to mind it. After I did that, I grabbed some clothes out of my drawers and carried them with me out the door. On the way to the bathroom, I got stopped by Ross.
"Hey," he smiled at me.
"Hey," I grinned back at him.
"I was wondering if you would like to hang out in about a half hour," he mentioned.
"Yeah, sure, I'll take a shower real quick and head out for another walk," I winked with a smile. He nodded and walked away. I went into the bathroom and stripped down of my clothes. I turned on the water and waited for it to heat up, then I got in. I washed my hair, then my body, and shaved. Then I got out, dried off, and put my clothes on. I combed out my hair and decided on going natural. After I did that, I walked back to Rydel and my room, which was now empty, and did my make up.
"Going for another walk!" I yell loud enough for everyone to hear once I get down the stairs, then I leave out the front door and walk down to Ross and my usual meet up spot. After a few minutes, Ross shows up in his car and I climb in.
"Where to this time?" I asked him as I buckled in.
"A park, one that no one goes to," he replied and drove off. I nodded and turned up the music on his radio. Radioactive by Imagine Dragons flooded the car and I sang along to the music. Once the song was over, I found Ross staring at me with a grin.
"What? And eyes on the road!" I yelled.
"Sorry, you just sing really good!" He blushed. I blushed a darker red than he was.
"Thanks but I'm not that good," I denied.
"Yes you are, I can prove it," he nodded, eagerly.
"How?" I asked, raising an eye brow.
"By having you sing in front of my siblings and Ratliff," he said in a 'duh' tone.
"Yeah, that won't happen," I laughed while placing a hand on his shoulder. He rolled his eyes and turned onto another road, a dirt road to be exact. The road sure seemed a little abandoned but it wasn't too bad. Pretty soon, Ross turned another corner and came to a stop. I looked around, taking in the appearance of the park. There were several swings, slides, and a basketball court. It didn't look bad at all.
"You coming?" Ross's voice startled me. I turned in the direction of his voice and noticed that he had already opened my door and was waiting on me to step out.
"Yeah," I smiled and stepped out, "Thanks."
We walk over to the swing sets and sit down. I swing lightly as the swing squeaks.
