Aaliyah didn't know whether to go downstairs to investigate or to stay put upstairs locked away in her bedroom.

Maybe there's nothing to be scared about, she thought. Maybe something just fell, and that's what the noises are.

She tried to think of any possibility for the reasoning behind the loud noises downstairs but nothing stuck to her. Only one did stay put in her heart and she hated to think about it; someone was downstairs in her house.

She debated on going downstairs or staying put upstairs in her room. Either way she was unsafe, but she seemed safer being locked upstairs farther away from whoever was down there rather than actually going closer to them. If she went downstairs, her life could be taken away from her. But if she stayed up here, she'd be petrified and never know the reason behind it all. All in all she was unsafe either way.

Aaliyah decided to come face-to-face with the unknown person downstairs. She got up and made her way to her bedroom door, placing her hand on the knob and slowly turning it as she added force to open it. It somewhat creaked as she did this. Aaliyah mentally cursed when the loud noises downstairs came to a cease. She suddenly heard noise again, and immediately freaked out when she recognized them to be footsteps. They were heavy, definitely a males, and coming closer as she felt her heartbeat increase. She turned to her right as she was only halfway out of her bedroom, grabbing anything she could find to protect herself. Luckily, she found a lamp and grabbed it in her small hands. As the footsteps came closer and closer, she held tighter and tighter on her protection, getting ready to take a swing as soon as she saw whoever the intruder was. Just as they reached the last step, she could hear them coming closer toward her direction. All she saw was a  tall frame through the darkness, hearing that person coming closer and closer. Just as she saw shoes in sight, she brought the lamp back about to charge it at the person before she hesitated and stopped.

"H-Harry?"

He looked at her with a concerned expression, instantly grabbing the lamp away from her hold and bringing it down by his side before his other arm was suddenly around her small frame, tugging her into him without any permission.

"What were you attempting to do, hit me?" he asked lowly into her ear.

"I thought you were going to, wait," she tried to pull back away from him, but Harry kept her put against him in an embrace. "Harry, get off of me right now."

"Al, you need to calm down," he spoke roughly when Aaliyah spoke sternly.

"Not until you get your dirty hands off and away from me," she now spoke with an annoyed voice, rising by the second. Aaliyah was shocked when she was suddenly pushed away from Harry, catching off balance by the sudden action. She looked up at him wide eyed as he made his way toward her holding out his hand that wasn't holding the lamp, which happened to be his right.

"These hands are far from that, love," he directed toward his hand before it was wrapped into a fist, the only finger pointing out was his index as he pointed it directly in Aaliyah's face. "And don't you dare tell me what to do, or speak to me in that manner you understand?" His voice dropped an octave as it was laced with anger, but seriousness was the main tone. She looked at it. She wanted to snap it. She wanted to hit him. She wanted to do anything possible of hurting him, but she didn't. She felt anger boil up inside her when he wouldn't move that stupid finger not even a centimeter away from her face. When she didn't respond, he poked her nose with it. Aaliyah looked up from Harry's index finger into his eyes.

"Well, same goes for you too. You don't tell me what to do, nor do you speak to me that way," she finally said, making his jaw clench by her attitude. But she wasn't finished just yet, "You know, you're a real hypocrite. You see, you tell me not to do certain things by yet you do them. So if I am not allowed to do or say certain things, what gives you the right to, huh? I don't get it."

"Stop it right now, Aaliya-"

"And you think you can control me. Well you want to know something, Harry? You can't, and you won't."

"Aaliyah, I'm warning you. Stop it right n-"

"God, you're so annoying! You act like you're my father or some shit, well you're no-"

"God damn it, Aaliyah! Just shut the fuck up!" Harry's voice echoed around the house as he boomed. It made Aaliyah jump from the unexpected difference in his tone of voice and volume. "I know I'm not your father, but I still am going to look after you as if I was somewhat one." Aaliyah looked at him confused and wondered what Harry meant by that, but before she could even ask her other thoughts played the best of her.

"You know I could call the police for you barging in my house and breaking stuff in it," she stated.

"But you can't, and you won't," Harry smirked.

"And what makes you think that?" Aaliyah asked cocking an eyebrow up and crossing her arms over her chest.

"Because, you'd sound and look crazy," Harry shrugged.

"How?" she asked him confused.

"Just don't, you don't want to find out do you?" He asked and his smirk widened as she looked at him in disbelief, shock, and confusion.

"How'd you even get in here anyway?" Aaliyah asked as she brushed past him, going down the stairs to see the mess he made. Papers, tables, books, pictures, you name it, and it was crashed on the floor. Aaliyah gasped.

"The door," he stated as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.

"What the hell? Why'd you do this?!" Aaliyah yelled.

"I was looking for you," Harry said calmly. Aaliyah looked at him in shock.

"You were looking for me?" She asked in disbelief and he nodded slowly. "This doesn't look like you were looking for me. And even if you were, what were you trying to do? Hurt me along the way? Gosh." It looked like it was done out of anger. But why would Harry do such a thing?

"I got frustrated when you weren't shown," he shrugged again, but Aaliyah knew there was something else to it.

"Alright well you found me," she said looking up at him. He licked his lips, wetting them before speaking.

"Look," he stopped before inhaling through his nose slowly closing his eyes before exhaling, "I wanted to come by and apologize for earlier," he opened his eyes after he was finished with his sentence.

"S'okay," Aaliyah shrugged and rolled her eyes. Harry bit his lip as he looked at her intensively. Aaliyah grew uncomfortable under his intense stare. When he released his lip, Aaliyah's attention was on them. They looked soft, and so much like in her dream. She felt her cheeks heat up at the memory of what she dreamed about not even an hour ago before realization hit her.

"Well I have to get going," Harry checked Aaliyah before making his way to her front door.

"Hey, wait! You never helped me pick up this mess, and if you don't happen to remember that all of this is from none other than you," Aaliyah said. He only turned around and reached for the door knob before bringing the door closer to where he was.

"See you around, Aaliyah," he said dropping his right eye lid before it went up, winking at her. Then the door was shut closed, and Aaliyah stood there both stunned and wondering what the hell just happened.
