The man who I call my father slammed me so that my back roughly collided with the wall. I had to grind my teeth together so that I don't utter anything.

"Daddy, please stop," I begged at him so that he stops but my pain seemed to motivate him further.

"Shut up, you ungrateful brat!" He yelled at me. He brutally punched my stomach making me harshly cough. I even heard a crack from inside. I can only hope my ribs are not broken.

After five or six hard punches, he was done with me. Even though I was hurting, I remained planted on my feet, scared that if I move, he will start all over again.

He stared at me disgustedly before grabbing a fistful of my hand and brought my face closer to him. I wanted to get away from him because of that repulsive smell of alcohol but refrained myself from doing so. "Listen to me and listen good. I don't want you to make any friends at school or boyfriend. And if anyone asks you what happened you just say that you're clumsy. Do I make myself clear?" He asked. When I didn't respond he slapped me one more time, "I said do I make myself clear?" This time I nodded. "Now get out." He mercilessly threw me on the ground and left the house.

I breathed a sigh of relief.

With a sore stomach and cheeks, I took the stairs and entered my small room. Unlike those normal kids who have a big king sized bed and walk in closet and bathroom incorporated in their rooms, all I had was a small bed along with a second hand closet.

I wore a hoodie to hide the existing bruises on my arms and took my bag. Once I was done, I slowly and carefully walked down the stairs and got out.

I had recently come to know that Majenta High was only ten minutes from home. Thank God for that. If it was farther away, I don't think I would have been capable of dragging my aching body there.

After ten minutes of self pitying, I finally arrived at my new school. This is the third school I'm changing in ten months. We don't stay in one place for a long time because apparently my "father" owed many people. Since he couldn't repay back those individuals, he would run away from them dragging me along. Well it's not like I had another choice. Our previous was Wiston Alley, somewhere in Boston. Now we have moved to Majenta Falls, somewhere in North California.

I took note of the school. It was nothing extra ordinary. Just like my previous high school, this one was similar, with the populars on one side, the punks on the extreme end and normals walking around.

Since I didn't want to look at anyone, I simply stared at my worn out converse and made my way to the office.

"H-Hello," I murmured nervously at the attendant.

"Hello," she replied cheerily. "How may I help you?" She looked like a very nice woman specially with those round spectacles around her.

"I'm new here. My name is Angelina Blackburn." I said, looking down.

"Oh yes, of course." She rose from her seat and walked to what I think is another office. A few minutes later, she came back holding some documents. "So, this is your schedule and this is the map of the school." She handed me the documents. "Have a nice day ahead, sweetie."

"Thank you." I replied. I tried to smile but my sore cheeks prevented me to do so.

I looked at my schedule and looked at the subjects I will be studying this year.

Maths

History

Biology

Economics

Literature in English

PE.

I was so engrossed in what I was looking at that I didn't see someone coming my way and I bumped into that person making all of my things drop.

"Oh my Gosh, I'm so sorry." I heard a girl's voice say.

I painfully got down and started picking up my stuff. Oh my gosh, that hurt. The girl was kind enough to help me out.

"Hi, I'm Ellisandra." The girl smiled at me. She had bob haircut and beautiful heart shaped face. She even had dimples when she smiled.

"Hi, I'm Angelina." I nervously looked at the black tiled floor.

"Angelina Blackburn?" She asked, surprising me.

"Um, yes? How do you know?" I questioned.

"Oh, we've been expecting you. We had been told that a new girl would be coming soon. Since it is a small school, nothing is kept hidden." She explained. As much as I wanted to talk to her and make her my friend, I was scared and I remembered the warning.

"Oh, okay. Well thank you for your help. I need to go." I tried to get away but she stopped me once more.

"Hey, wait. Let me see your schedule." She asked nicely. How could I refuse her when she is being such a polite person.

I handed her my schedule and her mouth turned into a huge smile. "Great, have four classes together." And here I wanted to get away.

"Yeah, great." I lied.

"Come on, let's go." She walked by my side and started to explain how this school works. "Do you know your locker number?" She asked.

"Um, 233." I told her.

"Wow, is that a coincidence or what, cause mine is 235." She clapped her hand together. I swear this girl was highly energetic.

A few minutes later, we walked towards our locker and Ellisandra took out her books while I inserted the books that I will not be needing and took out only my Maths book.

Ellisandra was ranting about something going wrong with her locker. I was genuinely not paying attention to what she was saying because my mind was wondering how will I get away from her. I'm not allowed to have friend for god's sake!

I was about to turn around but my body bumped with what I think is a wall. I closed my eyes tightly expecting to fall but it felt as if I was hanging in the middle of the air.

I slowly opened my eyes only to be met by gorgeous green orbs staring right back at me. My eyes roamed around my savior's face. All I could notice was how devastatingly good looking he was. His tanned skin and chiseled jawline made him look like a dark angel. And that unruly hair, it was as if he had ran his hand several times over it. It was as if time had stopped. Both of us were looking intensely at each other. He was the definition of male with a capital M and there was a dangerous aura hovering over him.

His hand suddenly tightened around my waist making me bite my lips so that I don't whimper in pain. He was still staring at me. No one had ever looked at me with such an intensity. I wanted to hide somewhere away from him. He seemed bad news to me.

My hand automatically travelled to his chest and I stated detangling myself from him. His eyes narrowed at my actions making me come to a complete halt. He then pulled me up with him and finally removed his hands from me. My body suddenly felt the lack of warmth I was getting from him.

"You should see where you're going, little one." These are the first words he said. And I nearly died when I heard his accent. He had an Italian accent when he talked. It was so surreal. "You should be glad I'm not doing anything to you right now." I looked back at the floor, unwilling to look at him, afraid that I might get lost in those green mysterious orbs.

"Oh, give her a break Nickias. She's new here." Ellisandra said, coming to my rescue.

"She might be new, you should have filled her in, Elli." He bit back, still staring at me.

"Shut up, Nickias." Ellisandra scolded. "Anyways, Angelina, this is my cousin, Nickias and Nick this is Angelina." She introduced us. During all this time, I kept my head down.

I felt him take a step towards me and he whispered so lowly that only I could hear, "See you soon, little one." And with that, he was gone.
