The plan was simple. Mary was taking the children to her parents house. They were very rich and hosted parties all the time before Mary was born. The only problem was, the children's grandparents despised the children and also the mother for marrying the father. They were traveling at night, Mary said it was the better time of day to.

"We're here now children." Mary said anxiously as they walked to the front door. The house was huge with a big garden in the back. Once they got to the door, Mary stood in front of them. "Children fix your coats and Lucy put your headband back in!" They fixed their coats and hair and Mary knocked on the door. The door creaked open and an old, stern looking women came out. "Hello mother!" Mary said happily, but obviously faked since she wasn't even smiling. "Look what the cat dragged in." Grandmother mumbled. The children smiled innocently at their grandmother. "Come on in before you catch a cold." Grandmother said sternly. They all picked up their luggage bustled into the door. "Now be very quite or Grandfather will wake up." Grandmother said. They hurriedly followed their grandmother up the many flights of stairs, until they reached a small hallway with a single door at the end of it. They silently walked down the carpeted hallway and went into the room. The room was small but was able to fit two small beds, a coffee table with little stools and in the corner, another flight of stairs, leading up to an attic. "Lucy and Peter you sleep together and me and Christopher will take the other bed." Said Cathy. "NO NO NO!" Grandmother shouted,"the boys stay in one bed and the girls stay in the other, I can't trust the two older ones together!!" Christopher and Cathy exchanged a questioning look. They were brother and sister, they don't have feelings for one another and they never would. "Mommy where are you going to stay?" Asked Peter. "Well, I won't be staying with you, I have to restart my relationship with my father and when he accepts me back, he will meet you." Mary said. The children looked upset but Mary didn't seem too notice."Hurry up before your father gets up Mary!" Snapped Grandmother who was waiting at the door opening, "And don't sneak up here to see your children all the time, we don't want your father to notice." Before Mary walked out the door, she turned around and hugged all of them. "Goodbye darlings, until tomorrow." She smiled one last time, walked out, and closed the door. Once the door closed, there was a slight click. Christopher went over and tried the door. "Cathy, it's locked."
