Promise Me This... (A Damian x Reader Story)

Chapter 8: The Mission

Your first mission was nothing big, nothing like taking out the joker, or one of the most dangerous criminals. It was rather boring, just taking out a few street thugs. You expected something bigger, but you obviously knew you weren't ready for the big jobs. That was Bruce's thing.

Bruce drove you down to a large lot, right near a building, and told you to get out. You and Damian hopped out of the car, and waited patiently for your next command. Bruce told you to hide behind a ratherly large trash bin. He then followed quickly behind you. He spoke. "I was at work the other day, and I heard one of my workers say that someone was going to rob this store. Now. (Y/N), you're going to follow Damian's lead. I'm only going to help minimally, as to help you. Got it?" You both nodded your heads, and heard an alarm go off. Damian bolted to the corner of the building so he could get a better look of what was going on.

4 thugs came out of the store, and ran up to a car you hadn't seen before. They shouted at the storefront and two more men came out. You and Damian both leaned toward the corner in order to hear what they we're saying. You heard one masked man say "Haha, I'm suprised the big Bats ain't here yet. This must be one of the smaller things on his list to do. Haha, I bet he ain't even goin' to show up." The other men snickered along with him.

At that moment, Damian bolted from the trash can to the back end of the building, and climbed up the ladder without making a sound. You followed him, a little clumbsier though. Both of you at the top of the building, you followed Damian to the ledge closest to the front. You observed for a moment before Damian looked at you and whispered, "Follow my lead."

He swooped down, taking out two of the men. You followed closely behind and took out one man, a little more awkward than he did. He took out his staff, and knocked two more out, as you did the same with the last one, less gracefully. You both saw the police cars coming from down the street. As they were approaching, you and Damian went down to the Bat Mobile, and Bruce, drove away, back to the cave.
