"Oh look who it is..."

I rolled my eyes with a groan, keeping my arm around Maddie and trying to lead her another way.

"Not so fast Payne" Donnie says as he steps in front of us.

"Get the hell out of the way."

"Or what? You gonna get your body guards on me?" he taunts as he flicks his head behind me where Preston stood by the van.

I scowl at him, mouthing 'Go away'. He curtly nods and gets into the car before driving away. They are so annoying and overbearing about this security thing. They take Maddie and I wherever we need to go and follows us around, making sure we're 'safe'.

Fuck that.

Wherever the paps are so are Preston and Paul. I quickly take in my surroundings and indeed see a few camera people.

Why can't they leave me alone?

"I can't wait 'til next year." Donnie's voice brings me back to reality. "Why's that?" I ask in the most bored voice, just to get him out of my face.

"It's gonna be fun messing with your little brother. Logan, is it?"

I fight back the urge to drop kick him. I grind my teeth together to stop my actions. "It's not something to be proud of. Being held back for another eighth grade year isn't something to look forward to dumbass."

He opens his mouth for a comeback but...

"Can you just move?" Maddie's soft yet annoyed voice demands more than asks to our frequent tyrant.

He looks at her with a slight smirk on his face that makes me wanna pound his face in.

"Why hello angel-face, you're just the girl I wanted to see."

She sighed and slowly removed my arm from her shoulder.

What the...

"What do you want?"

"I think I can, you know, show you a good time."

I held back a laugh. Is this guys serious? Does he really think Maddie would go on a date? With him?

Not with those skills she isn't.

"Where would we go?" she asked. 

Oh hell no.

"Madison." My voice was firm in warning.

"Anywhere you want sweetness."

"Alright meet me after school and we'll talk" she said and walked past him to get into the building. 

I pressed my lips firmly together and narrowed my eyes after her. 

"Looks like I stole your girl, Payne."

I cut my gaze to him and grabbed his shoulder with one hand and drove my fist into his stomach with the other. He released a breathless grunt. "Your face will be next if you even think about that shit."

I left him to collapse to the floor and ran after Maddie.

When I caught up with her I yanked her shoulder so she'd face. She gave me an annoyed look.

"What the hell was that?"

"Like I'd really go out with him. Do you know me?"

"What was that shit about meeting him after school?"

She stopped walking and faced me, completely serious. "Are you messing with me or did you forget what we're doing after school."

I scratched the back of my neck, "The first one?"
