Grace peered over my shoulder while Vanessa checked out the photos I took. I didn't know what time it was now, I just knew my brain wants to take a long nice nap. Grace yawned. By the look in her eyes, she was more tired than me.
"I'll have to admit Vanessa looked up at me, "you're pretty good."
"Thank you," I generally was thankful. A compliment from her was rare.
"Just because I complimented you doesn't mean I don't like you." She tells me.
"I got it," I tell her while she hands me my camera back.
I pulled out the memory card and handed it to her while she grabbed the money from a bright pink wallet.
"Here." She said, handing me a couple twenty bills.
"Thanks," I quickly say before leaving this house.
Everyone was leaving now. Driving away from the party of the lifetime I guess. I slipped into the passenger seat and watched Grayson approach Grace. He peered into the car and smiled before looking at her. I pressed my head into my hand and closed my eyes, waiting for the door next to me open.
It did.
Grace placed her phone in her lap and turned the engine on.
"What was that about?" I asked, still having my eyes shut.
"Nothing." She says briefly before pulling out.
The drive home was silent. We were both too tired to talk. It was only us and the music from today's hits.
Grace pulled into my driveway and I saw Matthew's car was no longer here anymore.
