“Jay!” I turn to where my names being screeched out. I looked to where one of my best friends who was trying not to run towards me. Casey Ryan. Her blond hair was currently out and her school dress inches above the regulations marking her rebel behaviour to the school rules. But i couldn’t talk because i looked exactly the same. “Oh My god you won’t believe what happened!” She exclaimed panting i rolled my eyes as i paid the lunch lady. Casey looked the poor woman over and remarked rudely how horrible she looked i knew she overheard from her expression. I sent her a small smile before following my sassy friend. “I really don’t know why you bother with that woman she’s probably spitting in your food. And you have a reputation to uphold may i remind you.” She scolded linking her arm through mine i rolled my eyes. “Space;” I remarked so i wasn’t holding my tray with one hand. She smiled “there she is; Barkly girls very own Sharpay Evans.” I smirked at her comment but didn’t say anything as i sat down in my usual seat in the room packed with year twelves. “So anyway as i was saying...”
“Forever new is having a summer sale!” Lucy chimed in Casey sent her a look that i even had to look away from. “I was in the middle of saying that.” She remarked stuffing a strawberry in her mouth. I smiled “so we’re going to hit the shops after school you coming?” Lucy asked pouring dressing on her salad. I nodded eagerly “tramming?” I asked taking a spoonful of my couscous “yep.” Lucy replied watching me. “Um...ok.” I shrugged “anyway i have other news.” Casey remarked eyeing Lucy “apparently...”
“Mary Bay is seeing Harry Styles!” I chocked on my water making Lucy pat my back. I looked up to see Danielle walking and sitting down. “You are kidding me right i was going to tell her!” Casey whined rolling her eyes. Danielle’s black hair was curled in its usual ringlets as she flipped it over her shoulder obviously proud to beating her friend to the gossip. “Jay; say something.” Lucy asked timidly waving her hand in front of my face. I swallowed shrugging “well there going to make life a living hell for each other.” I say bitterly thinking of the two people i could hate most in the world. “Talking about the devil;” Casey said i followed her eyes to Mary Bay herself. Her dry and lifeless brown hair was up in a bun and her school dress was reaching just to her knee and her socks pulled to their maximum height. Her best friend Ricky looked exactly the same as they walked to a table meant for only the two of them. I rolled my eyes as i faced the rest of my friends “what?” I snapped to their quizzical faces. “Oh nothing;” they said in unison facing their trays. “Screw this.” I said picking up Danielle’s slurpee she just purchased “hey I’m not done.” She whined i shot her a look before slapping down a five dollar note. “Your next ones on me,” I reply to a confused Danielle. “What are you up to Jay?” Casey asked her face full of delight and excitement. “Just watch.” I answered as innocently as i could. I made my way to Mary’s table that was just successfully near the bin. I answered random hi’s from tables and waves before i was eventually in front of Mary herself. Without even thinking i poured the remaining contents of the slurpee onto a shocked Mary. “Oh my god you did that on purpose you brat.” She screeched i laughed “I’m so sorry i was heading over to the bin before i just... tripped.” I reply with a fake sincere look. Mary smiled “good luck explaining that to her.” She remarked pointing over my shoulder to the teacher who was walking towards us. “Jay Carmichael!” Her voice boomed throughout the room. “Yes?” I replied not even the least bit scared of her over dramatic front. “What is going on?”
“She poured her drink over me on purpose!” Mary complained again while Ricky tried to clean her up. “It was an accident i tripped over that stupid broom.” I fought back gesturing to the broom lying behind Mary. Mary gaped at me “but...but.”
“I say you shouldn’t blame things on people before you get the full story sorry Miss Carmichael you are excused.” Before anyone could say anything else Harry Styles himself walked through the door.
