Dealing with Pirates- Ch 4

We ported in Tortuga, myself grinning all the way into town. "This is living." I exclaimed picking up an abandoned bottle of rum from a barrel. "What do ya think?" I asked Will taking his arm in mine.

He looked around at the drunken men and women "It'll linger."

"That's the spirit!" I smiled patting his cheek.

"I'll tell ya mate, if every town in the world were like this one, no man would ever feel unwanted." Jack explained.

I smirked watching a red head walk up glaring at Jack "'bout to eat your words, mate." I laughed.

Jack grinned seeing her come forward "Scarlet!" He said stepping right into her slap. Will and I watched as Jack frowned "Not sure I deserved that." He said. He shrugged taking my arm in his and continuing to walk  and turning around to face another girl.

"Gisele!" Jack smiled.

"Who is she?" Gisele asked nodding towards me.

"What?' Jack asked again walking into another slap.

I laughed as the girl glared at me. "I may have deserved that." Jack muttered looking at us.

It didn't take long to find Gibbs. Will and Jack each carried a bucket of water. I sighed looking at him lying against a pig's belly. "May I?" I asked taking the bucket from Jack. I dumped the water of his head causing him to wake up with a start.

"Curse ya fur breathing ya slacked-jawed idiot!" He yelled sitting up and pointing a knife at me. "Sage?" He asked squinting at me. He looked behind me at Jack who was smiling "Mother's love, Jack!"

I frowned "You don't greet me like that every time I come and visit." I pouted. Crossing my arms over my chest.

"Ya owe me, lass." Gibbs muttered.

"So he wasn't that drunk." I mumbled.

"Ya know better than to wake a man when he's sleeping. It's bad luck!" Gibbs explained.

"Ah!" Jack said "Fortunately I know how to counter it. See, the man who did the waking buys the man who did the sleeping a drink, and the man who was sleeping it drinks it, while listening to a proposition of the man who did the waking." Jack smiled

We all stared at Jack for a while trying to understand the words "He'll buy ya a drink if ya get up, Gibbs." I said.

"Aye!" He smiled "That'll 'bout do it." Jack helped him up and Will dumped the other bucket of water on him.

"Blast I'm already awake!" Gibbs screamed.

"That was for the smell." Will explained giving him a look.

"Isn't he the bright one?" I asked patting his cheek and walking to the pub.

Will stand by the wall looking a little scared and unsure. Gibbs went to grab a table for him and Jack while Jack and I went to grab drinks. "I'll pay for the lass." Jack explained as the bar tender handed me my drink.

"Cheers." I said smiling at him "I'll find you in the morning." I explained about to walk away.

Jack grabbed the right arm making me wince from the pain "Sorry." He said letting go "But where ya be heading?" he asked

I shrugged "Visiting a friend." I explained leaving. I walked up the stairs with my drink and watched as Jack went to speak with Gibbs.

"Ana!" I yelled banging on a door with my free hand.
