Chapter 4
Christine finally had enough spare time to drop in at my place. The moment I opened the door she walked in and started to babble about Daniel. I don't really understand how Daniel got voted as Vice President. He's a slacker.
"Wait, wait, wait hold up," I said.
"He is a total bi-"
"Watch the language,"
"Sorry, sorry,"
About Christine. She's independent, talkative, and nice but if you ever get on her bad side I wish you luck. You could say she's pretty, she's like the living breathing Barbie doll -without the plastic. She even considered to make an anti-plastic club.
About five minutes of Christine constantly talking about Daniel -Who is British, and looks like the younger version of Orlando Bloom- and how lazy he is, there is another knock on the door. I could die because of this opening the door every five minutes, I'm already feeling exhausted.
I open the door and there was the Dutchman again. He comes like every day now. I wonder what his name is, but it's probably something in Dutch and I won't be able to understand it.
"Anna! Is your mother-"
"Yeah, she's at the back,"
"Alright, thank you," he smiled his Dutch smile and walked to our backyard.
I sit back on the couch where Christine is and she smirks at me. I look at her raising my eyebrow and wonder what on Earth she is thinking.
"What?" I finally ask.
"So that's the Dutchman who constantly comes and helps your mum with her tulips?"
"Yeah, is there any other Dutchman in America who sells tulips?"
"No, I don't think so," she smiles. "I think he likes your mum,"
"What the hell! No way!"
"Don't deny it Anna," she smirks. "Denial is not just a river in Egypt,"
Our conversation goes on and on constantly switching subjects about Daniel and the Dutchman. When she finally left I went to the back to help the Dutchman and mum with the tulips. Mum asked me to get her a shovel and I did so trying not to fall. Wow, I'm getting really exhausted.
I grabbed the shovel on the table in the kitchen and walked back outside and handed the Dutchman the shovel and he gave her the shovel. I stared at them together, mum seemed to be happier when he was around. Maybe Christine was right.
A couple hours I went to bed after eating dinner and the Dutchman was still there. I would change into my pyjamas but I had enough energy to only take my shoes off. I looked at Sisyphus -My hamster that I got from my dad on my sixth birthday, also do you know my mum hates Sisyphus? - And he was running on the spinning wheel probably trying to lose weight. I slowly close my eyes and the darkness creeps in.
I wake up in 3am feeling quite sick in the stomach. I quickly run to the bathroom and an unexpected thing comes out of my mouth and into the sink. Mum walks in the bathroom looking at me for a second.
"Anna, honey, are you okay?" she asks. Obviously, I'm not.
"Take me to the doctors please?"
"Come on, I'll clean you up first then I'll take you to Dr Pepper,"
"Do you have to take me to the doctor with the same name as a soda drink?"
"He's good, now come on,"
