Chapter 3
Claire took me out shopping after school for new clothes because she thinks I wear the same clothes everyday. I don't wear the same clothes everyday, I just have many pairs of the same clothes.
"Anna, you've got to get out more," she says.
"No, I don't,"
"Well, get Facebook or something. Be sociable,"
"Facebook is getting old,"
"Then-"
"No thank you, okay? Just pick out some clothes and we'll leave. I'm freaking exhausted,"
"Anna, it's only four,"
"School gets tiring, okay?"
"Maybe you should see the doctor,"
"I don't think it's that serious,"
"Well, let's shop!" Claire squealed.
I bought a new pair of Chuck Taylors and denim shorts. Don't judge, it's when it just gets hot.
The Dutch Tulip man was at our backyard again, helping Mum plant more tulips.
I watched them again from my window. This time with a chair so I wouldn't feel so exhausted.
"I have to ask, where did you get those tulips from?" Mum asks.
"My mother. She plants them for a living. Best in the Netherlands," the Dutchman says.
"I guess that's all the tulips," Mum says after planting the last red tulips.
"I'm quite parched, could I have a drink?"
"Of course!" Mum says and walks back to the kitchen to get him a drink. The Dutchman follows her.
They have a conversation downstairs, something about Tulips, me and beaches. Leaning my ear against the floor didn't turn out as good as I thought it would be. I guess I was so tired, I feel asleep on the floor.
