22: An Old Friendship

"We can't just stay in bed all day" i said, still laying in Shane's arms.

"But we do, you see it is night. My angel" he said with a smile.

I rolled my eyes "when I say day, I really mean night. You know that"

"Yeah, I do" he said with a smile.

"Shane?"

"Yes, Angel"

"I need to get up... and go see Jake" I said.

I felt his grip tighten on me "why?" he spat.

"Look I need to go talk to him. I saw for a second like two nights ago, and well we just have to talk" I said.

"I'm coming with you" he said instantly.

I knew he was just trying to protect me, but I need to do this alone. Lets face it, Jake and I will be alone at some point. If I go and talk to him by myself he will be more open with me. I need Shane to stay here. Or maybe it will be like in the movies when your yelling 'NO DON'T GO IN THERE! DON'T GO ALONE!'. Well either way, I need to do this and I need to do this myself.

"No Shane, I need to do this myself" I said sternly.

"No Angel, I will not leave you alone with him!" he said.

"Look Shane, do you want me to live here?" I asked.

"Of coarse I do" he said with out hesitation.

"Is Jake living here?" I asked.

"Yes....."

"Well I am going to be alone with him at some point" I said.

"But Angel...... I just don't want to lose you....again" he said and when he said 'again' I couls hear hos much sorrow it caused him.

"I know, Shane" I said as a whisper "I am sorry"

"It is not your fault" he said and tightened his hold on me.

"Shane, I need to go and you know that" I said.

"I know I can't stop you" he said with a sigh.

"Thank you" I said and got out of bed. I went threw my drawer and got out a pair of jeans and a simple black tank top, with panties and a bra.

"But if you are not back in twenty minutes, I am coming" he said sternly.

"Okay" I said and walked out his door.

I walked down to Jake's door. I hesitated in front of it. Then I did a very faint knock.

A few very short seconds later the door was open and Jake was standing in front of me.

"Angel?" he asked. Then a smile appeared on his face.

"Hi Jake" I said and pushed past him into his familiar room.

"Angel I am so sorry for what happened I-" he started saying but I cut him off.

"Jake, I know you are sorry. I do not completely trust you again but, I accept your apology" I said sitting down on his bed.

He walked over and sat on the chair "thank you, Angel" he said.

"Jakey?" I asked.

He smiled at my nickname "Yes?"

"How has life been since I 'left'?" I asked.

He looked away "very depressing, how was your um, life?" he asked.

"A very bad heart brake" I said.

"Oh yeah, tell me about him" he said and turned back to look at me.

I sighed "are you sure you want to hear it?" I asked.

"Yes, Angel I do" he said.

I knew he was only saying that so he could talk to me. I knew he still felt very bad for what happened and I don't blame him.

"Well. When I woke up.." I started from Dustin and went all they way to Chase and Chrystal on the floor.

"Wow" was all Jake could say after.

"Yeah I know" I said and looked away. I could feel a tear brimming my eye.

"Oh Angel" he said and came and sat awkwardly next to me. He awkwardly patted my back with his hand gently. At this point, I didn't care who it was I just wanted alittle comfort.

I leaned back into Jake's chest. He let out a sigh and then rapped me in his arms.

"Thank you, Jake" I said.

"For what?" he whispered.

"For holding me" I said.

"Angel, everyone wants to hold you" he said and smiled down on me.

"I still want to hold you" I heard a male voice say from behind us.

We both turned to see a tall figure standing at the door of the room.

I had to blink away the tears to focus on him.

"Chase, what are you doing here?" I asked.

I heard a low growl come from Jake who was still holding me.

"Well, for you of coarse" Chase said.
