When I finally came to, my surroundings were completely unrecognizable. I was laying on some kind of a large flat rock. Beyond that I only knew that I was in an acrid valley. Nothing but shrubs and orange dirt into the horizon. The other direction yielded no further information. Through my pounding migraine, I sensed running water and crawled over to the edge of the rock to investigate. In a small patch of shadow, a tiny puddle of water lingered, not yet evaporated by the searing sun. My eyes widened with hope, maybe I could draw more from the ground to get a drink, get rid of this horrible headache, and figure out what was happening. Focusing on the source of the water, I felt a familiar pull in my gut as more surged forth. Quickly, I scooped some up to drink, then proceeded to fountain it over myself.

I must have been quite the view; messy black hair, my training jeans, and grey shirt with blue trim. All alone. Blackjack had dissapeared, along with the ambrosia hidden in my pocket. I dipped my hand into said pocket and drew riptide. Looking down at it, I sighed. I really doesnt help a lot when one has no enemies to defeat. Speaking of why were there no monsters around? Instantly I was suspicious. It definitely looked like I was completely alone. But did that mean I actually was completely alone?

Of course not. The first sign of life in this acrid place skittered right across my toes. When had my shoes been taken off? The thing moving was some kind of scorpion so obviously I moved my feet away. Hopping off the rock, I decided to see if I could do anything about the current situation. I found the sun in the sky and walked in its direction.
