Maxcine's P.O.V

We made it to the highway where everyone talk about meeting up. We pulled up to see Rick, Carl, my dad, and Maggie. I ran up to Maggie and hugged her tightly. I was so happy to see them. I looked over at Carl and hugged him too. I was hoping to see the others here by now. As I was starting to think the worst, I heard a motorcycle. I seen Daryl pull up with another car following him. When he got off the bike, he was greeted by everyone around him. He can up to me and wrapped me in his arms. After he let go, I ran to Beth and squeezed her tightly as well. I was not going to let my sisters go ever again.

Some time passed and we needed another place to stay. We have been bouncing around from place to place trying to find somewhere to call our new home. Lori is big and pregnant. She was going to pop any minute and we needed to find a place that is safe to have a baby. Daryl and Rick found us a prison to stay in. We all fought walkers left and right to get to the gates and close them. Once all of the gates where closed and the yard was cleared, we made a fire and camped out at the front of the prison. Daryl kept watch and Carol joined him. I looked over to see Daryl rubbing her shoulder and them talking. I really like Daryl but I don't want to get in the way of something they have. i guess I will have to play it by ear. I needed some time to think. I went and found a nice tree and climbed up it. Anytime I was stressed or just needed to be alone, I climbed a tree and spent the whole night up there. My mom and dad would get so mad at that. So from that point on I had a tree house to escape to, that way they always knew where I was.

I was keeping watch because I just couldn't sit down and relax. I had to be up and active. I don't trust this place yet and I needed to be ready in case something goes down. I looked over at the fire and seen Max and Carl next to each other. Her sisters weren't to far away from her either. At least she has her family and they're all safe. I think about Merle a lot. A part of me still thinks he's alive. It takes every part of me to not leave this group and go searching for him but even I know that's stupid. I was brought out of my thoughts once I heard Carol come up and brought me a plate of food. I was grateful for that but she didn't have to take care of me. I guess it's the thought that counts. I noticed she looked stressed and offered to rub er shoulder for her. After everything she has been through, it's the least I can do for her.

Once I woke up, I realized that I was nearly noon. I hurried up, climbed down the tree, and made my way inside the prison. Walking in, I could tell straight away that they have been working hard to clear out the front. I can't believe time got away from me like that.

"Where were you at" asked Maggie.

"I needed some time alone" I told her.

Once Maggie heard those words, she knew exactly where I had gone. She nodded and left it at that.

"Wait. Where did you sleep" asked Beth.

"In a tree" I said.

Beth was too young to know what I was talking about. She just gave me a look and went back to her business. I noticed Daryl walk by and give me a confused look before walking away. Rick walked up and also looked confused but didn't ask questions.

"Glad to see you back." said Rick.

"Glad to be back. I want to help you clean out the rest of the prison." I said to him.

This got a reaction out of Daryl but he didn't say anything.

"Okay. It good to have another person on board" he said.

We stayed in a huddle the whole time, only breaking formation to kill walkers. As we approached a door, it was opened slowly to reveal a group of prisoner on the other side. Once we got in and I looked around, I seen him. I can't believe after all these years he was still in prison and I was looking right into his eyes again. It was Thomas.
