The music was loud, drumming filling my ears.  And the fire, buring through my skin.  His hands touched my hips, my waist, his lips buring against my neck as he whispered he loved me.  I closed my eyes; this couldnt be real.  My feet were bare against the dew covered ground, the moon above my head.  My long black hair was loose and flying beautifully behind me.  My dress was long, made of silk the color of midnight.  I swayed with the others, caught in the magick of it all.

And there was Darian, his hands smooth, cold and hot at the same time, and gentle against my burning skin.  Around us other couples whooped and howled and danced.  They were all beautiful, each in their own way.  And now, I was one of them.  My heart soared, I was meant for this!

The music died, but still i wanted to dance.  Still i wanted to shout into the night and be close to the man i loved.  His smile was bright as he held me, his long black hair tickling the edge of my nose, and his eyes, those strange eyes, the color of the sun danced with an evil glint.  His skin was tanned, proof of where he lived.  Florida, the "sunshine state".  I laughed at idiotcy of it all.  I was pale and hated being out in the sun.  And now, I am a Child of the Moon.

Darian's smile grew as he watched my swaying body.  He leaned close to me and whispered, "It's excelerating, isn't it?"

I nodded. "Was it like this when you joined? This...exciting!"

He laughed, smooth and lovingly.  "Yes," He took my waist "it was."

I melted into the depths of his embrace. Never let this night end.

We danced until morning, when the suns rays began to shine behind fluffy clouds of pink and red and orange.  Darian walked me home, holding tight to me, a smile on his proud face.  I sighed, happy that I had him, happy that I was part of the Children of the Moon.

Little did I know, my life had just begun....
