"i'm assuming you're going to go hang out with your friends now right?" she stops for a second and thinks then she shyly says
"can i hang with you guys today?" i nod and say sure but ask
"wait why don't you want to hang out with them?"she sighs and explains how they only hang out with her because she's popular and they want to 'be on top of the social food chain' as they say.

As she says that I nod and we walk further into the canteen to the table my friends and I always sit at.they seem genuinely surprised by her wanting to hang out but they didn't seem opposed to it.Eli wasn't here but i am kind of glad cause he would of pitched a fit probably. as we all sit there eating and talking about the most random things ever and i can feel someone staring at me but i ignore it until her friends come over pretending to be concerned about why she went home yesterday.It's so obvious they don't actually care about her it's laughable, so that's what i do i laugh.They glare at me, the only guy she used to hang out with (other than her ex-boyfriend, which everyone is wondering where he went) asks me "why are you laughing?"
i manage to calm myself for a minute and say "you're acting is horrible, honestly it's so obvious you don't actually give a shit about her and just want the popularity that comes with being friends with her.it's so obvious that it's laughable and that's exactly what i'm doing, i'm laughing my ass off and thoroughly enjoying it." he just tells me to 'fuck off and mind my own business' i just snicker to myself knowing he completely tried to avoid my solid point.
"why are you hanging with them anyway?" the 'main girl' says with disgust laced in her voice as she looks over to the rest of us sitting at the table, once her eyes meet mine i give her a teasing wave and she looks away angrily while my friends are snickering.She looks at them and says " well these guys actually like me for who i am you guys just hang around me because i'm the most popular person i this school at the moment and i didn't feel like being ignored and used today so i hung out with these genuinely kind people for a change" after her in speech the look of hatred and disgust increased tenfold and Camila's so called 'best friend' Katy looks so red she could have smoke fuming out of her ears. as we observe each other's emotions i keep a straight face as usual and analyse what their next move is.
i know that Katy hates to be humiliated, so much so that last year when some year 7 tripped and spilt his drink over her she yelled at him about revenge and he wasn't seen at school again.Anyway, I see her clench and unclench her fist and i know nothing good is about to happen.she raises her arm up to slap her and i jump up and push her back so she can't do anything,she falls to the ground and friends or as i call them now 'goons' pick her up.she glares hard at me and says
"you shouldn't have done that, nerd" she and her goons laugh while i stand there smirking.she stops laughing and asks "what are you smiling at nerd?"
i say "is that supposed to be news to me because i already know that i'm much more intelligent than you and your goons that are cowering behind you?" Their smiles drop and i can hear gasps all around me as no one has ever dared to talk back to her but i'm sick of her shit.
everyone is silent now, that is until some year eleven yells "FIGHT!!" and she lunges at me, i dodge and catch her fist and say "now i suggest that you don't try anything like that again unless you want to land flat on your ass, stay away from my friends and i, and maybe pick up a book for once"
I release her fist and she storms off with her friends trailing behind her with their heads facing the ground.We all look at each other and then burst out laughing as they walk away while everyone else in the canteen is whooping and hollering.after we quieten down i look at the time and realise that we only have couple minutes till form/registration.
"hey guys we should start heading to form" they all nod and start to make their way to their different rooms."hey Camila where's your form?" she looks confused as to why i asked her but replies anyway "it's in the History building, why?" that's on the opposite side of the school to where my room is but i want to walk her to hers, you know so she doesn't run into trouble with Katy.i realise i need to actually reply to her. "oh i was gonna ask if you'd like me to walk you there" i start beating myself in my head because why would she want me to-" "yeah sure i'd love you to" she interrupts my thoughts while smiling at me.i have a confused face for a second but then start smiling.she links her arm with mine and we start to walk towards her form.as we walk there we get a bunch of looks from people in the hallways but ignore it as we're busy cracking jokes and discussing our favourite bands.once we reach her form we stand outside the door with only one minute left till the 3 dings sound meaning you're late if you aren't there already, and i need to get to form quickly but i am too distracted by this goddess in front of me.she finishes saying something about her little cousin who she loves to bits.we look each other in the eyes and she starts to lean in, i freeze again until she wraps her hands around my neck and pulls me in for hug.i wrap my arms around her waist and try to calm my breathing.
she pulls away with a smile on her face and so do i. "the bell is about to go so i'm gonna go in and you should get going as well" i nod but stay put as i watch her walk away.she turns around as she is about to walk through the door,smirks at me knowing she caught me staring and walks right into the room.
i then immediately start to sprint to the other side of the building trying to get there on time.as i pass the language block the first ding goes off and i speed up as much as i can. The second ding goes off as i pass the library and i'm going as fast as i possibly can.i sprint through the doors to the English block, open the door to my form and slide into my seat as the third ding goes off and i give a little smile knowing i'm not gonna get a late mark on the register.as i catch my breath the form tutor walks in and glances over everyone in the form before stopping on the spot and practically shrieking "TUCK YOUR SHIRT IN YOUNG LADY" while pointing at a girl in the year below me. she jumps as his voice enters her ears and starts stuffing the bottom of her shirt into her trousers.
he surveys the room once more and calls out the names on the register.after that he tells us we can leave early so we are early to our first lesson.my first lesson was maths with Camila,Eli and Aaron.Well that'll be fun won't it, note the sarcasm, i hope this goes as smoothly as possible.
