Evan called at 6:00 p.m. "Hello, gorgeous," he said cheerfully when Del answered the phone.

"Hello yourself," Del said smiling. Despite the horrifying story she'd been told earlier in the day, she was in a great mood. She had good information now and information, as they said, was power. "Just getting off work now?"

"I am. Did you think anymore about dinner?" he asked.

"How about Chinese food? Is there anyplace good near the youth center where you can get some take out?"

"There's a great place just before I get on the interstate," he told her. "What do you want?"

Del thought for a moment. "Shrimp lo mein," she said, "and spicy string beans."

"Egg rolls, crab Rangoon?" Evan asked.

"Yes, please," Del said. Her appetite had returned since lunch.

"Okay. I can actually call that in from here, so I'll only be maybe five to ten minutes later."

"I can't wait," Del said.

"Me, either," Evan agreed. "Love you."

"I love you," she said and hung up the phone.

When Evan got there with the food, they put it out onto plates and sat down at the kitchen table. The day had gotten extremely hot and was still very steamy outside, so they chose to eat inside where the new window units were doing their jobs beautifully.

After they finished, Del filled Evan in on everything she'd found out over the course of the day. She glossed over Gretchen Steinhurst's story not wanting to get too graphic with the details, but Evan got the idea.

"That's disgusting," Evan said. "No wonder Emma's so hell-bent on us getting to the truth."

Del was pleased he had said us. He was with her on this and she was glad. "I still don't know where I can go from here, but I guess the medium is the logical next step."

"Just make sure I'm here when this goes down," he said. "I don't want you trying to handle it on your own."

"Deal," she said. "So how was your day?"

"Good," he said. "Busy, of course, but good. It's an important event for the youth center. It always brings in more at-risk kids and that's what it's all about."

"It sounds very noble," she told him. "I'm very lucky to have such a kind-hearted man in my life."

"So what did Tom Robertson think when you told him what we've experienced so far?" Evan asked.

"I didn't tell him any of the supernatural stuff and definitely not that we'd experienced anything together. I though he might be offended if he knew that you were spending all of your nights out here now and fucking me senseless more often than not."

Evan grinned. "I like fucking you senseless," he said. "In fact, I might just do it right now."

"Please," Del replied.

Later, much later, actually, they were lying in bed talking. "Next Monday I'd like you to meet me at the youth center and come to happy hour with all of us," Evan told her.

"You sure you want me there?" Del asked.

"Yes. Most everyone brings their significant others on occasion. I'd like you to be there with me, if you want to come."
