7. Yes Jonah, You Are Getting Hair and Makeup Done As Well

"Oh Junie," a voice sings from somewhere around me. I groan and roll over, covering my head with the blanket and fall back asleep. "Juniper, don't make me shred your blanket. I will and you know it," a recognizable voice says from my right side as the bed dips in. "Jo, why do I have to wake up? Can't I just lie in bed? I'm so," I pause with a yawn, "so tired," I mumble and cuddle back into the blanket. "Fine. I didn't want to have to do this, but I guess I'll have to eat your breakfast," he says in a sing-song voice causing me to let out a loud growl. Alpha! Are you ok? A guard wolf asks through the mind-link. Yes Jim. I'm fine. Just didn't want to be woken by anyone but I don't think Jonah really cared. I respond, glaring at my best friend the entire time. After a response from Jim, I lie back down on the bed and close my eyes. "Why did you wake me up Jo?" I ask partially groaning. "I, your best friend in the whole entire world, have awoke you on this very beautiful morning with a nice breakfast because I am just that awesome. That and because it is the last time I'll be allowed to address you with your nickname rather than 'Yes Alpha, No Alpha'," he mumbles. "However, I will put that aside for your own sake to say Happy Birthday Jay!" He says, excitement laced in his voice.

I groan. "That's today?" I have been so excited for this day. I don't entirely understand why I feel so down though. He lets out a low chuckle and nods his head. "Alright then, let's go downstairs and watch cartoons or something?" He suggests to which I nod my head and uncover my body. He stands up and holds his hand out to me and helps me up out of bed. We walk down the stairs and into the living room and I plop onto the couch and turn on SpongeBob Square Pants, soon being joined by Jonah. "So what did you get me to eat?" I ask excitedly while looking at him. "I got you donuts, muffins, and your favorite drink from Dutch Bros., a Shell-Shocker Freeze with extra whip," he says with a shrug and my jaw falls open. "Oh my Goddess Jonah! You are amazing!" I shout and wrap my arms around his torso in a tight hug. "Shall we?" He asks opening the box of donuts. "We shall," I say excited and grab a donut, taking a huge bite out of it.

By about 9:30, we've readjusted our positions and now Jonah is reclined and I'm lying on my side with my head on Jonah's lap while he plays with my hair. Father comes walking in wearing his normal black suit and smiles at me. "Happy Birthday Sweetheart," he says and leans down, kissing me on the forehead. "Thank you Dad," I say and smile at him. He leaves the room momentarily and returns with a cup of coffee and sets it on the coffee table. He lifts up my legs and sits down, setting them on his lap. "Could you pause your cartoon for a few minutes please?" Father asks. "Yes, Alpha," Jonah says and grabs the remote, pausing the episode of "Caillou" we were currently on. "Alright kids, I know you wanted to relax and have fun before the ball starts, but we need to discuss some things," Father says looking at us, and I nod my head. "So the ball starts at 2:00 and you," he says, looking towards me. "Have quite a schedule to follow. I have a good majority of the pack helping the decorators set up right now and I made an exception for the two of you so you can stay together and not set up. The hairdressers and waxers get here at 10:30 and you both need to be showered by then. They should be finished by 11:30 or 11:45 so you get until 12:00 to eat lunch, which is when the makeup artists will show up. You need to be finished eating and be done brushing your teeth when they get here. They'll do their thing until about 1:45 and then someone will be in to help you into your clothes. Yes Jonah, you are getting hair and makeup done as well. Brent isn't here so I need her next closest male, other than me, to escort her and stay with her all night, and you need to look flawless. Now it is currently," he pauses to look at his watch "9:38 so I want you both to go take showers or baths and then Jonah, just wear something comfortable, but Jay, you need to wear a pair of your spandex and a sports bra. So go do that and then if you're ready early, you can do whatever. Okay?" He says with raised eyebrows. We both nod our heads and he nods his head and gets up from the couch, grabs his coffee, and leaves the room.
