I first saw Corey when he was in Triple-A. He was such a cute shortstop. My dad and I are huge baseball fanatics, and we have had season passes for almost 14 years now. The Dodgers needed a new, young player, for the postseason. Corey fit the requirements and here he is a year later, being the NL ROY. I've met him once or twice, he's a very nice kid. My dad and I won a contest where you got to eat with one of the players. It took a lot of persuading, but my dad finally decided on Corey instead of Kershaw. Today is the dinner. I've never been more scared in my entire life. How am I supposed to keep my cool in front of my dad?
"Mr. Y/L/N and Y/N, congratulations on winning the contest!" The waiter said, while giving us water. When he goes to check on other customers, Corey Seager walks in the door. I almost peed my pants! He was wearing a black suit with a nice, red tie. I was wearing a red dress. Coincidence? I think not.
Corey shook my dad's hand, then mine. "So, Mr. Y/L/N, how long have you been a Dodgers fan?" Corey asked. "Well, I grew up in Chicago, and I was a Sox fan. I moved to Los Angeles when I was 12, so I converted to the Dodgers. Nothing wrong with having two favorite teams, right?" My dad laughs. The waiter comes back to take our order and we are having a heated discussion over pitching. "But Noah Sydergaard is more accurate than Aroldis Chapman! Speed doesn't always matter." I said, then taking a drink. "I 100% agree with you, Y/N." Corey says, looking me straight in the face. His eyes are so beautiful. "Excuse me for a second, I have to go to the bathroom." My dad stated. "Okay." I said quickly, thinking of conversation starters.
Before I could say anything, Corey said, "So Y/N, do you have anything to do tomorrow?" Is he asking me on a date? "N-no. I don't think so. " I stuttered. "Well, how about we have dinner, just you and I this time?" He questions. My heart just melted. "Sure! Why not?" I laughed, hoping I didn't embarrass myself. "It's official. I'll pick you up tomorrow at 7, I just need your number."
My dad came back, and we argued even more about baseball. At the end of the night, I was sad to see Corey go, but I realized I will be seeing him tomorrow night.
