The Girl with The Red Hood

It's a wonderful morning when I woke up and I can hear the lovely voices of the birds singing outside. The sun is peeking at my window, hitting my skin.

"Red? Are you awake, dear?" Its my grandma. I better get up now. Today is the pick season of dandelion flowers and I have to sell it on town.

"Yes grandma. I'm coming." I jump out of my bed and did my daily routine.

"Today's the pick season of dandelion flowers right, dear?" Grandma said while we're eating breakfast together.

"Yes grandma. After this I will immediately pick up those flowers, get to town and sell them. What would you like me to bring home later?"

"Maybe some bread and milk because were almost ran out of stock."

"Of course. I almost forgot. I'm done eating Grandma. I'll just go get my basket and harvest the flowers."

I stood up from my sit and get my basket hanging at the back of our door. After that I immediately go at our backyard where our garden are. Without further action I harvest all the dandelion flowers.

We have many varieties of flowers planted here in our garden. We have rose, sunflower, orchid, lily, dahlia, chrysanthemum, dandelion, snapdragon, pear blossom, and tulip.

Tulip is one of my favorite flowers because it has many colors and its very beautiful.

After I picked all the dandelion flowers, I went back to our house and wear my red, long cloak with a hood. My Grandma made it especially for me.

I search for grandma and I found her at the porch of our house reading some books.

"Grandma I'm going. Take care of yourself while I'm not here okay. I'll be back before sunset." After that I kissed her forehead.

"Don't worry about me, dear. I'll be fine here. Just be careful on your way okay. Take care yourself for me." She said while looking at me with worried eyes.

"I will Grandma. Well, I'm off." Then I walk out of the house.

I heaved a deep sigh and put on my hood then I started walking.

When I'm going to town I usually head to the forest first. It's my routine to past through the forest for fresh air and peaceful surrounding before I go out to the loud crowd of the town. It makes me calm hearing the wind blowing, birds chirping and the sound of the leaves swaying on the branch because of the cool wind.

Its not that I'm afraid of the people in town, in fact they're very kind and generous to me. Its just that I'm not fond of loud places. I prefer peaceful places just like our house. Its located at the very secluded part of the village and I'm very thankful that it is far away from crowded people.

In the middle of my journey, I heard a rustling sound not far away from where I'm standing. I stop on my track, look from my behind and saw a group of bushes. I saw it move and I immediately step my foot backwards waiting for what creature will come out. Maybe just a little bunny trap inside.

As I walk to the bushes a big snake just come out. I gasped. Oh no! I'm afraid of snakes! Before I could run away the snake jump out of me.

"No!!!" I cover myself and wait for the snake to latch on my skin but it didn't. As I look in front of me I saw a back of a man strangling the snake and throw it far away.

"What are you doing here in the woods all alone?" A baritone voice came out from the man's mouth as he speak.

Then he turn around and face me. I think my breathing just stop. This man in front of me is gorgeous. Bright blue eyes like an ocean, pointy nose, pinkish and kissable lips and a very well-built body with only fitted shirt and faded jeans, but still really looks hot. I don't know what happen but my heart suddenly beats so fast. Its like I'm so draw to him. There is something about him that makes me feel safe and protected. But this is the first time we've just met.

I gasped. I took a step backwards. Did I just saw his eyes turn into gold with just a seconds ago? No maybe I'm just hallucinating. I blinked my eyes several times.

"I'm just passing by. I'm on my way to town to sell some flowers." I said still looking at him, mesmerized by his features.

"Still it's very dangerous to wander in the forest all by yourself. Didn't you know that there's more dangerous animal that can attack you?" He said in a serious tone.

"Don't worry. I'm used to go to this path every time I go to town and its also the first time that some animal had attack me but I'll take note of that. By the way thank you for saving me awhile ago."

"No problem. Just be aware of your surroundings. You don't know what kind of creature you'll encounter next time." As he said that he turn around -face his back on me- and walk away.

"Wait... what's your name?" I don't know what came over me but I just uttered those words unintentionally.

He stop from his track and slightly turn his head.

"Zen." Then he started walking again until he disappeared in the darkness.

"Zen... " I whispered.

I hope I will see him again. Oh what am I thinking. I shouldn't  think about him. He's a stranger, but I know his name. Ugh! Its better if I get to town right now. Besides I'm almost there.
