Seven

"Intruders, capture them and bring them before the King!" I heard someone shout.

I was yanked harshly behind a pillar, that happened to be twenty feet tall and completely made out of ice.

"Bellona what the hell did you think you were doing? You were about to get yourself killed out there!" Alek hissed whilst pressing his back against the ice pillar and peeking around to look at any danger "and pull up your hood before anybody sees you"

"Give it a rest Aleksander, she's just entered a new world that she's never even been in before, of course she's going to be a little star struck at first" Alexei responded not best pleased with Aleksander.

"Has anyone noticed that I'm standing right here and that Jiyan warriors are just over there ready to kill us?" I admonished

Alexei looked around the pillar, only to have a arrow come flying at his head, which luckily missed him (not by much) and lodged itself in a pillar behind the portal.

"Right there are ten Jiyan warriors with swords and evidently bows and arrows" Alexei breathed.

"No shit Sherlock" I muttered under my breath.

"There's no way out without engaging in battle so I think we should plan this strategically" Alek pointed out.

I rolled my eyes, the ever serious Alek pointing things out strategically. Why don't we just go out there and kill them?

Ignoring their chatter on 'strategic attack' I stepped out from the pillar and froze the first person who was closest to me.

Suddenly there was a flurry of shouting and me, Alek and Alexei were engaged in battle.

"What the hell were you thinking stepping out there like that?" Alek breathed heavily whilst they were back to back trying to fend off two Jiyan warriors.

"You were boring me, so I thought I would hurry along the inevitable" I shrugged ducking when the warrior swung his sword.

All this fighting was very invigorating and somehow I found it come naturally to me. I stepped away from Alek and circled the Jiyan scum that was in front of me.

"You Nijian never know when to stop do you? We rule over these lands now, and nothing or no one will stand in our way" he sneered at me

"Not even the King and Queen' s daughter?" I smirked before lunging in and sweeping a blow to his stomach, he doubled over in pain before I froze him in an icy flurry.

I looked at my hands and decided to take the gloves off, they were of no use to me anymore.

"Bellona watch out!" Alek shouted, I heard a faint whistle to the left of me, I turned around and dodged the flying arrow coming at me and in a split second I reached for a bow in my quiver, placed it on the bow, drew back my arm and released. The arrow soared through the air and hit the Jiyan right in the chest.

I breathed up and down and lowered my bow and attached it back to my quiver.

"Take this message to the King" I boomed to the remaining Jiyan warriors who had surrendered, there were only two "The Nijian people will rise again and the rightful Queen will be restored to the throne"

They scrambled up on their feet and retreated out of the temple,most probably to go and gather more warriors.

"We must leave quickly and quietly, no doubt they will gather more warriors, and then we'll be royally screwed" I said stepping over the dead corpse of the Jiyan man that I had just slayed.

Aleksander nodded and Alexei just shrugged, we slipped out of the temple quietly, a bell was ringing, no doubt alerting all of the palace guards of our presence.
