We spent the next half hour equipping ourselves for the long journey ahead of us, gathering any sort of weapon that we could get our hands on and strapping it to ourselves.
I didn't exactly tell them I could teleport from one place to another, I was still figuring out that one for myself.
There were five tribes that we knew the whereabouts of, the Mermaids, Griffins, Polar bears, Centaurs and Unicorns (sounds like some fairy tale doesn't it?).
There are other tribes that Alek told me of but he said that it wasn't worth asking them as their numbers were so small that they wouldn't fight and some had become so elusive that they'd take years to track down and we (obviously) didn't have the time.
I was frightened of visiting all of these tribes and then having them refuse to fight with us otherwise it would be us on our own and we'd be totally screwed. In only two weeks we'd be having one of the biggest battles in Traijin history and as the prophecy states I'd be the one to lead the Nijian and all other tribes to victory.
I was sitting on a ledge of the mountain overlooking the white expanse that was Traijin, the wind was whipping my hair as I looked out to the tundra.
"One day this will all be yours" Alek said from behind me.
"I couldn't imagine ruling a whole kingdom, I'm not really Queen material am I?" I said turning to look at him.
"You are more Queen material than I am" He said sitting beside me and looking out at the whole expanse.
"Well firstly your a dude so you couldn't possibly be Queen" I laughed "But what I meant is like I don't know anything about Traijin and it's people, how am I to be Queen if I don't know my own people?"
"You will get to know them, until then we have a war to attend to"
"A war that I apparently have to win" I sighed
"Well yes, but you will have help"
"From who? Whose to say that these people will help us?"
"They will, they want their homeland back same as we do, They want a better future same as us and they don't want to live in fear anymore"
"But who would rally behind a supposed Queen when she hasn't experienced the same as them and instead led a life of utter bliss?"
"Hope, my Princess, hope. They hope for a world with no conflict with peace and prosperity. Isn't that what anyone could hope for?"
"I guess" I shrugged my shoulders, still undecided. This whole thing is completely new to me and I'm still undecided on whether I'd wake up from all of this and laugh at myself for being so ridiculous or whether all of this is true and I've entered one of my worst nightmares.
Yeah I lead my whole cheer leading squad but they only consisted of 22 of us, this however, is a whole different ball game. Leading a whole entire country of people and mystical beings, let's just say it wasn't going to be easy and that was the biggest understatement of the century.
"I know it's been a big shock to you, finding out you're not human, getting all these new powers you never thought was possible and coming to a land you never thought existed but you will get used to it and in the future, you could come to call this place home"
Looking out to the icy tundra it's hard to feel that this place would become home to me. What makes me really mad is that I don't even get to decide for myself because 'apparently' it's been set in motion before I was even born. I don't get a choice in how to live my own life, it shouldn't be anybody else's to meddle with I should be able to control my own fate. But no I have to raise an army of warriors and 'reclaim' my 'homeland' back from my evil brother.
