Did You Know Fiera

“Do not fall for the trick! This is the most deadly part of hell the souls that come here sometimes never leave even when they have a chance. I can’t promise to protect you from the horror but I won’t let it seduce you into staying. Outside this place waits your final guide. She will bring you to Satan. Her name is Lalita which means innocence in Greek. Listen to her well.” Fiera told me as we walked through this mist into what I’d guess was her hell.

It was truly beautiful. Everyone seemed to have funny running around on the grass meadow. A little stream could be heard babbling in the background but I couldn’t place where the stream was. There were picnics set up everywhere. Some couples sat together laughing. Then my eyes landed on a scaffold. It was oddly placed in the middle of the meadow. Around it was a crowd of people as if there was some sort of entertainment that was going to come from the scaffold. I looked to Fiera as to ask if I could get closer to see what it was that was happening. Fiera nodded her head and walked me over to the area. ‘How can this be the worst place in hell? It looks like paradise.’ I thought as I walked closer eager to see more of this wonderland.

There on the top of the scaffold was a pretty girl that looked no older than twenty five. She was wearing a red dress that looked almost hazy when I tried to look closer at it. The people that surrounded the scaffold also surrounded this tarp like thing that hovered above the ground. The girl looked down at them and laughed. The breeze was hitting her and she looked almost like an angel standing before the people. Everyone was cheering and it looked so festive that I myself felt like drifting into the ground until Feira grabbed hold of me preventing me from moving forward. I looked at her questionably but she simple looked beyond me at the people. A little girl from the crowd yelled up to the woman first;

“Jump down, I promise we will catch you. Look how beautiful it is you’ll look just like an angel flying. Don’t you want to be an angel? All you have to do is jump down here.”

“Will you really catch me? Do you promise not to let me fall?”

The crowd cheered yeses and I looked up to see the world’s colors changing. The once summer sky was a black color with red clouds hanging all around the flaming moon.  The scaffold that once looked like it was for entertainment was now rusty metal that looked broken and warped. I watched in terror as the girl leaped and the people around me dropped the tarp. Bellow the tarp was a pit made of shattered glass and different sized rugged metal. I turned away for a second to notice that the once happy looking couples were literally chaining one another to the ground with spikes and staked through their bodies. A woman took a thick metal spiked stake and stabbed it into her lover so that he couldn’t move from the ground. The grass wasn’t green anymore the ground wasn’t solid anymore. It felt wet and when I looked down I notice it was a metallic red, blood. Looking back for the final time I watch the woman land in the pit. Screams of agony filled the air. Unable to move I looked onto the scene in silence.

“Why, why have you done this to me? You promise me you’d catch me. You gave your word but still you let me fall. Why would you do this to me?” the woman screeched in agony as the crowd looked on in pleasure. The same little girl walked forward to her and said in a sadistic voice;

“Why you ask? I’ll tell you why. All your life you gave your words to us. We believe you every time you told us something and look at us now. Our hearts were ripped out with your broken words. We searched for nothing more than for angry vengeance for you lying to us. Well look at you now. It was our word you needed and we simple returned the favor. Now we only need one more thing before you can rot in that pit for all the years you lied to us.”

“W-what more can u want from me?”

“I want to break that little heart of yours just like you did mine. Hold your breath I promise this will hurt a lot more than you can imagine.”

“Please just leave me be! Aren’t I suffering enough for what has happen?” The tortured soul screamed as I tried to peal my eyes away from the horrific scene.

“No. How many times did your lies rip my heart out? How many times did I cry from a promise that you made but never intended to keep?”

 “I’m not sure.” Tears were falling from her eyes as if she was beyond the point of understanding pain.

An evil laughter flew from the little girl’s lips as she approached the other girl. The scene almost looked like a lion about to pounce of its prey. “For every time we harm you will be just a single promise. You can keep count of how many times you scream.”

Fiera grabbed my hand and lead me away from the scene as I heard an echoing scream coming from the pit. This was hell. This was hell in its truest form. What was this feeling that I couldn’t control. Right there in the middle of the bloody scene I dropped to my knees and began crying too exhausted to move on. Tear after tear fell but when I looked up at Fiera she didn’t transform instead she remained the same. When I controlled my mental breakdown I looked at her curious and terrified that she’d turn into a monster like Hope and Serenity had.

“I won’t transform into a hideous monster. I’m already a monster. I’m a broken hurt that was broken by promises. I hold anger and pain from betrayal. I’m the weak angry person left that will call on the next soul to jump into the pits. My true self is the monster. So now it’s your turn to leave me. I’ve enjoyed this time we have together but now you must run to Lalita. She’s waiting for you. Goodbye Principessa di inferno.”

Before I could argue Fiera pushed me through the fog again into a whole new part of hell that’d leave me with more of my soul missing. Every step I take is leaving me more and more empty inside. I’m not sure if when I started this journey that Hope, Serenity, and Fiera knew that I’d be more alone and vacant after I left them. I knew that if I didn’t continue on that I’d be left with nothing. The only reason I can continue on is because every step I take reminds me that I am here for a reason. I need to save my mother’s soul. Looking back at the fog that consumed Fiera I asked,

“Did you know how hard this would be for me, Fiera?”
