The Blurb
After spending 3 months in Greater Manchest West McGuinness Unit, Effy is on the road to recovery, but the voices in her head are still louder than ever and still tell her to do horrible things, the thoughts in her head are driving her crazy and ever since she turned 15 on April 1 2015, they have gotten louder and more violent. But now she is somewhere where she feels sane and doesn't feel as if she needs to hide herself, everyone at the clinic is just like her. On her journey she makes new friends, all slowly leaving before she does. With her closest friend Becky, who's been here since Effy arrived, with extreme depression and anger issues, Becky can only ever be calm around Effy and the two spend each day together, slumped in a corner of the clinic talking about anything and everything. Until he arrives at The McGuinness unit, with a bundle of issues, depression, suicidle, mental thoughts, extreme anger issues and a slight eating disorder, everyone is scared to go near him, except for one person, that being Effy.
She's curious about this boy and wants to discover who he really is under all the pain. It's not surprising that any hallway he walks down, the girls stare at him. He's a walking pain filled master piece. With piercing cold blue eyes and thin pink lips, dark brown hair that is always kept perfect but could look sexy all messed up as well, Blake Kills is a model of utter perfection. Effy Preston is determined to get to know Blake, but she can barely look at him with out burning up, so there's no way she can come to be able to talk to him.
Until the day something changes and it leaves Effy in a life where she has never felt so alone and cold inside, where everyone around her doesn't seem to be there except for him. He constantly sits across from her on the other side of the wall in the deserted hallway, with closed eyes and resting thoughts. He is always there opposite her and this is where it all starts.
