Twenty-four. All I Can Do For You

"Kim Mingyu, where is she and where are you?" Chaeyeon ask Mingyu through the call.

"Do you really think I'll follow your plan?" Mingyu chuckle. "You must be really stupid to think that might actually team up with you to hurt Yein. I might hate the fact that she's in love with somebody else but I'm not that horrible of a person to make her unhappy like that. I, respect the person I like and you should too-"

"Shut up!!" Chaeyeon yells. "What do you know?! What do you know Kim Mingyu! You don't know anything! You can't lecture me and tell me what to do!" she yells once again. "I'm going to find you, and I'll make sure to kill her!" she yells furiously into the phone and hung up as soon as she was finished with what she was saying to Mingyu.

"You two,where are you going?" she said to two men wearing black who sat behind her in the black van that she was in.

"Sorry miss, but if you're not going to pay us, we're not gonna follow your little plan. "

"You! I'll make sure to get the police to catch you!"

"Have fun with that miss," one of the men said and then the two of them left.

Chaeyeon was left alone in her own black van and all the silence was making her go crazy. She repeats Mingyu's name over and over nonstop and decides to step on the car's engine and drove around to find him.

You think I'm stupid huh?! I'll find you Jung Yein, I'll hurt you just like you hurt me!

After searching around for hours, she finally finds Yein standing outside of a café, one that was not on the plan's list.

She grips on the steering wheel of her van and cursed out Mingyu. She waited for a second before doing anything and waited for Yein to cross the street.

And when Yein did cross the street, she starts up her engine and speed up the van.

She was smiling when she saw Yein's body collapse but after a few minutes, she panicked.

She tried her best to gathered herself together and turn the van around, heading to who knows where. She drove and drove until she was on a high way. The speed that she was driving at was beyond the limit and when the car in front of her came to a stop, her own car collided with the car in front of her at a great momentum.

"You fucking bastard!" Jungkook yell as he throw a punch at Mingyu. Mingyu who was feeling guilty was too sorry to say anything. "She told me not worry!" Jungkook throws another punch. "I shouldn't have trusted her! I should've never trusted you!"

At this point Jungkook was too tired of hitting Mingyu. What was the point of hitting him? It's not going to make Yein get better, it's not going to do anything but tone down his anger.

Jungkook slides down against the wall in front of the ER and cover his face with his hands. Silent sobs came out and Mingyu bends down to sit next to him.

"It wasn't my intention to hurt her..." Mingyu said.

"I was trying to save her from Jung Chaeyeon...but in the end I failed...I pretended to follow her plan to find out what she wanted to do...and when I did I backed out...a–and–"

"What is this about Jung Chayeon?" Jungkook said firmly with tears on his face.

"Jung Chaeyeon was planning to hurt Yein, and in the end she did. I changed the location of her plan, because I thought she wouldn't be able to locate me but she did. I'm really sorry Jungkook."

"You could've told me!" Jungkook yells.

"Would you even listen to me?! You'd probably punch me the moment you see me!" Mingyu yells back at him.

"Still you could've stayed with her and watched out for her!" Jungkook said with his fist clenching.

"I told her to not cross the street! I told her to wait for me! Do you think I'm happy seeing her get hurt like this? If you were such a good boyfriend, why didn't you try to stop her from coming to me! Why didn't you?!"

"But wait, no matter what you do, Jung Chaeyeon is still going to hurt Yein in the end...all because of you."

"You fucking–" Jungkook punches Mingyu again and this time, Mingyu was now lying on the floor with Jungkook on top of him.

Numerous punches from Jungkook gave Mingyu some bruises on his cheek bones and bleeding lips, not to mention a nosebleed.

All of a sudden, Jungkook rests his face on Mingyu's chest, and he began to sob again.

"I went to far," he said in between his sob. "You tried to protect her and all you got was a beating," he added.

A bunch of nurses came out and bowed to the two tired men sitting in front of the ER. Both Jungkook and Mingyu stood up to greet them and afterward, the doctor who took care of Yein came out.

"She injured her head severely, enough to be in a coma. I'm not sure how long, but usually, in an accident like this, it will probably only take her three to four weeks. Also she injured her legs, but it's nothing serious. A few weeks of rehab will make her walk fine again," the doctor inform Jungkook and Mingyu.

"Thank you doctor..." Jungkook said with no energy at all, but the doctor could see how thankful he was.

While waiting for Yein to recover, Jungkook had been sleeping beside in the hospital room that she was staying at. A knock came and when the door open, Secretary Min stepped inside and hands Jungkook a brown envelope.

"I never told you this and I'm sorry for keeping it from you but this is an investigation that I did on your step mother. Take a look," Secretary Min told Jungkook. Jungkook in response looked at the envelope then back at Secretary Min and then back at the envelope. He slowly opens it and pulls out the several pieces of papers that was inside.

When he reads what was on the paper, his eyes widen and his eyebrows arches. He slowly became more furious as he continues to read the text on the papers.

He knew his step mother was never good. He knew she was the reason that his relationship with his father was bad but she was beyond worse this time. He had found out that she had been wanting to get rid of his existence just to get the company. Not only that, she was the main source of Yein getting hurt.

He stood up and stepped outside the room and with Secretary Min.

"Thanks Hyung," he thanks Secretary Min.

"It's all that I can do for you, and your family's sake," Secretary Min smiles. "I hope Yein gets well soon, and uh– I'm sorry for separating you two."

Jungkook smiles and pulls the older man for a hug, "It's alright Hyung. I know you didn't mean to."
