Too Late

Chapter 41

~ Will ~

He was running out of time. He ran through the woods, hoping against hope that things would work out.

He could make it.

He could see the cabins now.

So close.

So, so close.

He woke up sweating. He never woke up sweating. Nico was curled up by his side, his dark eyes were open. He looked up at Will, "Bad dream?"

Will nodded, "Yeah." He sat up and Nico leaned against him, "What was it about?"

"I was running."

"From what?"

Will shrugged, "I don't know, but I was running through the woods and I made it to camp then i woke up."

Nico looked up at him, "Sounds like fun."

Will shrugged again, he'd had worse dreams, but this one unnerved him and he didn't know why.

Nico gently moved Wills arm so that he was was holding the son of Hades, putting his head on Will's shoulder he said, "William, you changed my life, you know that?"

Will's heart fluttered, "I- I did?"

Nico let out a small laugh, one just cute enough to make Will's heart beat even faster. "You did." Nico assured him, "And I can't thank you enough."

Will tried to find words, he really did. But before he could Nico had moved himself into his lap and had wrapped his arms and legs around him, Nico was so close Will could feel his heartbeat through their shirts. Nico smiled at him, "I love you, you dork." After that, Will didn't know how to express himself, he loved Nico move than the son of Hades would ever know, and words couldn't express how he felt at that moment. Will's lips met Nico's and he could feel the son of Hades smiling against his mouth.

"Some of us are trying to sleep you know." Kyla's flashlight beam caught them in the face, Will could feel the blood rushing into his cheeks. He was suddenly self conscious of Nico sitting in his lap with their arms wrapped around each other. But not self conscious in a bad way, but in a wow my sister just caught me making out with my boyfriend in the cabin we all share way.

"Get a room." Kayla complained.

Nico rolled his eyes and shifted his body so he could face Kayla, "We would but then you'd miss how adorable we are." He leaned his head back and kissed Will's cheek.

Will hadn't thought his face could get redder but he was wrong. He felt even more heat rise to his cheeks.

Kayla yawned, "That's true but it's like one in the morning."

"That doesn't mean we can't be cute." Nico shot back, then he turned back to Will and planted a soft peck on his nose. Will almost melted, he resisted the urge to just kiss him. But Nico didn't, the son of Hades leaned in and - wham. Kayla threw her pillow at them, making their heads collide, an action that quickly turned into yet another kiss. After that Kayla gave up.

After a while, Will broke away from the kiss, "You did that just to prove a point didn't you?" He whispered.

Nico shrugged, "So what if I did? It didn't mean I didn't enjoy it." He climbed off Will and lay down on the bed, Will took his place beside him, wrapping his arms around his boyfriend. He loved how perfectly Nico fit. He also just loved the son of Hades in general but that was a minor detail. And with that, the two boys fell asleep.

Will woke up to find Nico pulling on one of Will's hoodies. Nico looked at him and offered him a jacket, "Sorry, mine was in my cabin. Hope you don't mind." He would have been mad, but for one thing, it was Nico. And for another, he looked adorable.

He grudging got out of bed and put on his jacket, Nico smirked, "You're the son of the sun god, you should be more awake."

Will shrugged sleepily, "I guess." He took Nico's hand they stepped outside the cabin and the screaming stopped as someone ran into them. The camper backed up quickly, breathing hard, "Will... She came out of the woods and attacked us."

Will blinked, "Who?"

The camper took a deep breath, "We need a medic. Follow me."

As they approached the woods the girl pointed out the group of campers who had gathered around what appeared to be a body, "That's her." The girl said as they approached, "She came out of the woods and tried to attack some of us, Sherman knocked her out."

Will was a few feet away when he froze. The body on the ground was so familiar. He thought that he wouldn't ever see that face again.
