Just a few miles south of Nebraska City, Nebraska, a group of hills houses one of the most gruesome haunted legends known in the nation. over a hundred years ago, a man lived in the area along with his seven sisters. One day, he coaxed each of his sisters one by one each to a separate hill near their home and hung them from a tree on their respective hills. After his deed was done, he returned to his home and ended his own life. The reason is still unknown; many theorize that the family had gotten into a major dispute the previous day, while others believe he had simply gone insane.
To this day, the area has been the focus of many reports of paranormal phenomenon. Accounts of cars suddenly and inexplicably stalling have been common and plentiful along with other electrical and mechanical shutdown. Mostly, the tales consist of car headlights suddenly going extremely dim-almost out-when entering the hills, and returning to normal after leaving the area.
Perhaps the most chilling of tales are the numerous accounts over the years where travelers in the area hear the screams of young women- screams that originate from the nearby hills-while traveling on the stretch of road which passes through. Though it is commonly referred to as "The Seven Sister's Road," it's geographical name is L Road. It's a highly sought after "Friday night dare" for local teens and young adults; one that usually ends in unending regret.
