Prologue

The world had changed a lot, and it had all started in 2016. The many deaths of famous and not so famous people alike had brought the world down. Some guy that no one liked became president, and that had caused riots, and those riots led to the world's desolation. Havoc was everywhere. This caused a strange and mystical enchantment to form, and animals started charging at people and staying close to them. I actually got a pretty cool one, I got an owl. These animals were called familiars. They couldn't leave their human's side, and they stuck by their owner to the death. My owl was pretty useful because I could get it to fly, and scout around.

This world is not as bad as it used to be. Yes, it's a lot more dangerous; there is no law. People may kill as they please. I had gone along that path.

If I didn't kill, I'd be killed. Simple as that. I have no allies, and I'm beginning to think that's a bad idea. I should hunt for some.

We call this new world Banana, which is possibly the worst name I've ever heard but the person to decide was the one that assassinated the president,!so it was some guy called Lui. Lui was the most childlike guy you could ever meet, but no one dared to cross him.

The majority of the people in Banana wore masks to hide their identity, but still gain a reputation. I'd seen a few masks around; Lui wore a monkey mask, I myself wore an owl mask. We were big in hiding our identities; I didn't go by my name, I went by Vanoss. Lui didn't need to hide his name, his status protected him; and besides, people have known his name since he killed the president, and that was long ago.

I'm going to try and become Lui's ally. Then no one will cross me because I'm on his side. He might need me too, since he's such an important and well known figure that he's a target.

I'll start that mission tomorrow.
