I stand at the golden gates of the dragon school where its official name plated on the centre where the two gate doors meet 'Heteria Dragon Academy' but everyone just calls it dragon school. I walk into the building, it is the end of the first day of school and I am about to head into a school. I see boys at every corner, not a single female,  as expected. I follow the Vice principal, my brother and his friend into the school grounds, everyone staring at me.

"What are they doing bringing a girl here?"

"They're gonna get her killed."

I hear the students talking, wondering what is going on when I don't even know.

I walk into the school; it is so much better than my own. Everyone wears the uniform, blue blazer with gold details, and dark blue pants. And each room, and hall has a fine decoration that isn't too much, that screams place more than school. I walk down the hall until we reach an elevator.

This place even has an elevator!

"Jackson," his friend says, "I'm going to head back to the dorms, let me know what is going on later." He says as he does not hop in the elevator with us.

"Sure, see ya," my brother says. The elevator doors close and we ride to the low floors.

"Sir what is going on?" My brother asks the question I have been wondering since I saw the dragon.

"Follow me." The vice avoids his question. Did he not hear my brother? Or did he ignore it?

We follow him down a few floors and down some more halls. I think we are underground.

We walk down this dark hall and soon reach another set of large doors and walk in. We walk into this room, it wasn't too big, but the next set of doors was the real reason we were here.

"Please walk in and step into the middle of the room," The vice says. I do as he tells me to, my brother looks more worried than I do. Am I meant to be worried?

I walk through the doors, to a large, I mean a really really huge room. The room was round, and as I walk the ceiling opens. The ceiling was glass and the light spilled in; I knew we were under ground for sure now.

It looked like a closed stadium. With the only opening being the roof. I look up as I reach the center, I see students gather around the glass ceiling above me. I felt like I was a goldfish in a bowl.

"Are you ready Miss Tate?" The Vice's voice comes from a speaker, I can hear him loud and clear.

"Ready? What for? Hello?!" I begin to get worried.

"What are you-!" my brother's voice is played over the speakers before it is turned off. I can slightly hear him and see him panicking through the window into the 'control room'.

"What do you think you are doing!" my brother yells,

"This is the only way."

"Don't give me that! You're gonna get her killed!"

My heart races. What is going on? My heart beats faster and faster, increasing as time goes by.

"Let him in," The vice says over the speaker, my brother sprints out of the room.

"Elena!"

I begin to panic.

"What is going on?! Can someone talk to me!" I yell, before I look around the room, then I hear a sound. I turn around and see a large door open in the arena.

I feel a burst of warm air come towards me. I put my arm up to stop dirt from flying into my face, but then I hear a fearsome growl. Followed by a creature, one I have loved from a distance, but I quake when close.

It growls more as it begins to come into the light, its footsteps, loud, heavy, inhuman.

A dragon,  slowly walks into the stadium.

Jet black scales, and a white stomach and features. This dragon is twice the size of the other one. Two times taller, bigger and more deadly than the dragon that clashed with me today.

"You've got to be kidding me..." I say it is the only words I have. The dragon walks towards me before it lets out a loud roar. Shaking the ground slightly, and causing me to cover my ears.

I begin to freak as I walk back from the dragon and it flaps its wings in anger. I run. It breathes fire along the wall, as I duck and it misses me, only just.

"What the f-"

"Elena!" I see my brother.

I look over to him before I try to run to him to get inside. This dragon is going to kill me. I can tell this dragon is old, his vision is bad. I stare at my brother as I run, I can't take my eyes off him. The dragon's tail slams on the floor in front of me, causing me to fall. I look up at Jackson as two men come out of the room and drag him inside again.

I am going to die.

The dragon then sees me. I jump over its tail, feeling its hard scales, and hurting my ankle. I limp to the other side of the room, there is nowhere to go. I can't keep running. I look up, the boys are laughing at me. I push myself up to the wall as I watch the dragon land in front of me.

"I'm sorry," I mutter as I close my eyes as the dragon inhales to breathe fire.

I wait for the moment I will die.

Suddenly, warm air rushed into my face. Was that it?

I open my eyes to see the dragon starring

"What are you doing?" I say quietly. I look into its gold eyes, I see my own reflection. I reach my hand out and place it on his head, it is surprisingly cool. His scales are hard, but at the same time smooth.

I look into his eyes once more it blinks and then my vision fades out.

A frightening roar of anger and death, this was not just a dragon's roar, this roar belongs to a sort of monster.

This was followed by roars of pain, suffering, and war.

I break from my vision and with help from the dragon, I stand up.

Suddenly the sound of slow, loud claps drags my attention away from the dragon, and to a man standing in the center of the stadium.
