Chapter Eleven

Memory Lane

Lucy opened her eyes, her vision was foggy yet she could hear snoring all around her. Rubbing her eyes she noticed Wendy and Carla beside her asleep. She heard someone clear their throat and she looked up to see a red haired girl, her attire consisted of armour over her clothes. The girl had large brown eyes yet her right eye was partly covered with her red bangs.

"You must be Lucy." She spoke up quietly, beside her a pink haired boy was knocked out. Noticing her scared look the girl shook her head. "It's better for him to be like this because-"

"He has motion sickness." Lucy whispered. She noticed the girl look at her with an unreadable expression. "I don't know how I knew that to be honest with you, but my name isn't Lucy, it's Layla. Layla Heartfillia." Lucy's heart clenched tightly as she said those words, yet when she looked at the boy one more time something stirred and it scared her.

"It's more fun when we're together!"

Lucy's eyes widened and she grasped onto the arm rest catching the girl's attention.

"Are you ok?" She asked. Lucy caught her breath and looked up at her slowly.

"Yeah I'm fine, I think I'm just going to go in the back to get some air." With that Lucy left the red haired girl with her friends. She walked through the train and went to the back opening the sliding door, the little space in the back was airy and she watched as they left the town.

"Welcome to Fairy Tail!"  It was that voice again, the boy. The pink haired boy on the train looked exactly like the one in her dreams. Lucy clutched her heart feeling it ache.

"Let's form a team." Lucy looked down and fell down on her knees, her exposed legs colliding with the shaky wood below her, her left hand clutching onto the rail.  The train slowly came to a stop, but everything was still spinning.

"What's wrong Lucy?" Lucy looked up at the sky, the boy had told her this. He knows her, but does that mean she doesn't know who she really is. Her head pounded and everything felt shaky, she must be going crazy. She shut her eyes tightly and used her free hand to clutch the side of her head.

"Why would we doubt your words Lucy?" Lucy opened her eyes and took her hand off of her head, she felt her heart beat rapidly. She slowly turned around to see him.

He was there, leaning on the other rail.

His onyx eyes bored into her brown ones.

She had just met him, yet it felt like she's known him for a while.

"Lucy..." He whispered. She simply felt her heart beat against her chest and she had no idea why she felt so relieved to hear him say that name. A name she didn't even know.
