Chapter One

'Mistakes and Memories'

Her scent was still lingering around the apartment, Her smile still was in his head and most of all she still belonged to him. He never got to tell her how he felt, he had her and then in a blink of an eye he had nothing more. The number one thing he was upset about was that he broke an important promise to Lucy.

"Natsu I don't think I can do it." Lucy said shaking her head staring at the request flyer in her hands. Natsu looked at the Celestial Mage. A worried look was on her face as she looking at him.

"Don't worry Luce I promise I'll protect you." He said smiling. Natsu wanted Lucy to come after all it was her last mission before she had to go on a special training. 

"Ok, then I'll go."Lucy replied before returning a genuine smile back.

That was the last conversation before the mission and before she died. It was all his fault if they would have stayed then maybe she would be beside him. He felt another presence in the apartment.

"Natsu?" He turned and saw Levy, her hands touched the picture Lucy had of everyone on her desk. She turned around to face him again.

"Levy?" He spoke softly. It was then he realized something, she was crying. Small tears were found in Levy's eyes and she walked towards the bed.

"Lu-Chan is gone now." She whispered falling on Lucy's bed. She held her head In her hands. "I can't believe she's gone." Natsu looked at levy with grief. Lucy always went on and on at how great a friend levy was. 

"Ah, Levy-Chan is so great." Lucy said smiling and sitting next to Natsu.

"Is she great enough to marry?" Natsu asked childishly.

"Baka! Don't be stupid!" Lucy scowled hitting his head with a book.

"Sheesh, Luce I was just asking." He pouted running his head.

"Well don't ask."Lucy replied leaving the guild angry and embarrassed.

He chuckled at how mad Lucy got, but she was embarrassed mostly with what he had said for some strange reason. He had went to her house with a lemonde as a piece offering. 

"They're here master." Levy and Natsu turned an saw Erza, Gray and the master.

"Gramps?"

"Natsu have you gotten ready for the funeral yet?" He asked.

"No."

"Well then go get ready." Natus sighed and went to prepare.

"Erza how is he taking it?" The master asked looking out the window.

Erza sighed. "It's not well..."

The rain poured down that day, The dark clouds were rolling in and letting go of the clear liquid, the rain fell softly on the crowd gathered around a gravestone. It showed mercy by not falling hard on them.

"Even the sky is sad..." Happy said looking up and returned his gaze to the gravestone. Carla nodded. The whole guild was at the funeral. Natsu was next to Erza who was letting go of her tough act and only allowing tears to come down, Even Juvia was sad.

"Love rival can't be gone.." Wendy was being confronted by Carla. While Levy was silently weeping by Natsu.

"Damn it I can't take it!' Nasu cursed.

"Oi flamebrain be quiet." Gray said.

"No this is all my fault, If I wouldn't have convinced her to take the mission she would still be here." The whole guild including the priest watched him.

"Lucy should be here not me."

"Natsu you don't mean that." Lissana said shaking her head. "then Lucy will be in the same position your in."

"I don't care Lucy should be...Lucy..." Natsu thought for a moment. "I should've never had brought her." He said silently.

"What?" Lisanna whispered.

"It was a mistake bringing Lucy to fairy tail!" He shouted. "if I would never have met her maybe she'll still be alive, I wish- I wish I never met her!" Everyone gasped. 

"You went too far Natsu." Gray spoke up on his way towards him, but Erza stopped Gray and walked up to Natsu. 

"I'm sorry.." With that, she knocked him out.

"I wish I never met her!" His words echoed in her head.

"Natsu......" Lucy looked down at her friends full of grieve. "I'm sorry..."
