0.06 Pair Project

June and Claire had planned to be partners for the English project. They didn't know what it was about but they wanted to work together. Claire and her worked well together.

The two walked into the room and sat in their seats. Three weeks of school had passed. June was still getting use to it but so far, it wasn't Hell. Claire was nice and a great friend. The one problem was English. She loved the subject but the teacher didn't like June and June didn't return the favor. They disagreed on the topics they discussed in class .

The bell rang and the students rushed in to not be caught by the teacher. Ms. Clarkson stood up in the front and started to speak.

"Yesterday when I referenced that we will be doing a group project in here but I didn't say what," she explained, "We will be doing scenes from Romeo and Juliet."

June groaned loudly and rolled her eyes. She hated Romeo and Juliet. It was stupid and she didn't understand how it was so amazing. Two stupid teenagers falling in love in one day, getting married the next and killing themselves on the next.

Ms. Clarkson's eyes darted to June and so did the whole class. Her eyebrows lifted in anger, "Would you like to comment about this romantic  work of literature, Ms. Leary?"

"It's Lahey," she whispered to herself.

Three weeks and she still doesn't know what my name is, June thought.

"Is that it?" Ms. Clarkson questioned.

June stayed silent. She didn't want to make things worst or make the class think she was  brat.

Ms. Clarkson smirked, turning back to the board, "That's what I thought."

Now that made June fuel up. She did have something to say. She wanted to. Her fists clenched.

"Romeo and Juliet is not romantic," June's voice raised.

Ms. Clarkson replied, "How is it not? Shakespeare is known for his romance."

"He is known for making fun of romance. Isn't it obivious? Who the hell looks at someone across the room and knows instantly that they are their true love. That they would risk their one life for someone they met two days ago. People always feel that way when they see one. They imagine the future with them and feel the bond together. He was making fun of peoples feelings. He was showing two idiots that took it seriously and the consequences."

June forgot that she was in a classroom surrounded by people. She needed to prove her point, justify her answer. She felt that she was alone. June spoke her mind. She barely did that in school but with other people she knew and trusted like Ashley, she could say anything.

There was a break of silence before anyone spoke. The teacher's chin was up. Most students rolled her eyes but others were intrested about what June said.

"If you think so," Ms. Clarkson held a devilish smile, "You should have the balcony scene with..."

She scanned the room for a potiental Romeo. Her eyes fixed on someone but since it was behind June, she didn't know who it was until Ms. Clarkson said the name, "Tom Lang!"
