2.03 Gone
"June."
That was the first thing June heard from the other side. She was hanging out with her family in the living room when her phone rang. June knew it from the sound of the Indiana Jones theme. She looked to see Daisy's contact photo and her name. June tilted her head at it and picked it up. Before she approved of the call, she walked outside of the family room to avoid the large laughs and noise. She clicked the button and held the phone to her ear.
Her name escaped Daisy's lips.
"Daisy, what happened?"
When Daisy said June's name, she said it as a sniffle like she was crying. June hadn't looked at her phone for a long time. She was focusing on socializing with family.
June heard what she didn't want to hear. She heard Carrie and dead in the same sentence. June fell to the carpet, she sobbed, screamed. The phone laid beside her, faced up and Daisy was still online.
Suddenly, hands wrapped around June, pulling her into a hug.
"It's alright, June," Lauren's voice whispered into June's ear, "it's okay."
