Crazy But True: (8)

This is my MAKE up chapter for letting chapter 8 go down hill! Enjoy xo.

(Avalon)

“Devella’s out of the picture?” Alli’s upper lip curved upward showing an amused smile, as her hands gradually stopped at her hips. She titled her head to the side making her dirty blond hair fall beneath her shoulders in one side.

I bit my lower lip, which I had a habit of doing, as Cody draped his hand around my thin waist.

I felt as if a heavy weight was being lifted off my shoulders. We’ve all been dealing with drama these past few weeks. Bella, who was Cody’s ex-girlfriend, was finally gone. She wasn’t causing problems anymore, which I had to deal with for the past months, and that just made my life 10 times better.

“Devella?” Cody’s eyebrows narrowed in confusion.

Before Bella had come into our lives, my breathing was steady, and now that’s she’s gone, hopefully forever, it’s steady again. There wasn’t a time when both Bella and I wouldn’t pick up a fight. All our arguments ended up with screaming, insulting, and threats. So glad that was finally over.

Christian tapped his index finger onto his chin obviously figuring what Devella stood for.

“Oh!” He quickly raised his hand grabbing Alli’s, Cody’s,

“Devella is short for Bella. Yeah, baby.” The corners of his lip titled upward, like Alli’s, making a smile.

Wow. Always keep Christian locked up in your pocket or he’ll run away and do something stupid.

“It’s a good thing you cute.” Alli propped her elbow onto Christian’s shoulder making her hair fall against his shoulder.

“Christian, did your parents ever drop you?” I nudged Cody in his arm for his choice of words. I somehow couldn’t help cracking a smile for his response.

“No.” He replied instantly, but then began speaking again. “There was this one time when my parents said I fell because a snail was chasing me, so I hit my head on the tree, but they said that it wasn’t anything bad.”

I was tightening my smile from letting a stiff laugh from bursting out of my lips, but how could I if Alli and Cody we’re thinking the same thing.

“Yeah, it wasn’t anything bad. I mean you turned out really intelligent.” Cody’s tone of voice showed off her sarcasm.

“My mom tells me that every day.” Christian flicked his chin up proudly towards Alli’s direction.

I covered my mouth from letting my soft chuckle spill out. I got out of Cody’s grasp making my way towards Christian side, softly patting his back.

“Simpson, I swear if I fall I’m so going to kill you.” I tried climbing up a tree in the front porch that was going to be cut down because of its height.

I held onto Cody’s hand, who was already up in the tree, and he tried pulling me up.

“If you do, than you can kill me as much as you can.” He said from the side of the branch, which looked heavy enough to carry us both.

“If?” My heart pounded making me have second thoughts if I should climb up or stay on the ground for my protection.

“Avalon!” His thick Australian voice radiated through my ears. I pursed my heart shaped pink lips. I took a deep breath before grasping his hand.

Before I knew it I was being lifted up into the air and landing on the branch where he was sitting at.

I was forced onto not looking down because if I did I knew I would faint and Cody would come to my aid.
