Once Jamison is locked up again, Harry takes Jackie's face in his hands to make sure she's okay. Running his fingers lightly over her neck, checking for scratches or a cut, he nods when he sees she's fine, Harry then pulls her into his arms and hugs her close not caring whose watching. "God I was so scared." He whispers. "If I didn't know about those self defense classes you had taken I think my heart would have stopped."
"Well, now you know I can take care of myself, if need be, until you get there to be my hero." Jackie says as she kisses Harry's cheek.
Harry kisses her back, then turns to look at Nancy. "My office, we need to talk." He orders, as he wraps his arm around Jackie. When they get to his office, Harry closes the door, points to the chair, motioning for Nancy to sit. He then pulls Jackie into his lap as he sits in his own chair. "Okay, you want to explain to us what the hell you meant out there?" Harry asks.
"Look Harry, I know I've known you all your life, but I think this is something I need to talk to Jackie about alone." Nancy says.
"No!" Jackie says, before Harry could speak. "Unless we're at work, Harry and I do everything together, we are always near one another, even here at work we're just a few feet from each other. Whatever you have to say to me you can say in front of him I have nothing to hide from him." Jackie snaps out.
Nancy looks at the couple in front of her. "I know you two were very close as kids, what I'm about to tell you may make you hate me. But, it's my fault you two have been separated for the past twenty years." Nancy says, shocking both Jackie and Harry. "Janey and Steve aren't your real parents, Jami and I are. Janey is my younger sister, when I found out I was pregnant I knew there was no way I could raise a child in my home with the way Jami drank. I hid my pregnancy from the town and Janey faked one until after you were born Jackie." Nancy says. "We went to the mainland for me to give birth so no one here would know the truth, when you started getting older and started looking more and more like me Janey and Steve decided then it was time to leave. I agreed, I didn't want Jami finding out about you. He never wanted a kid, he said, he'd just as soon kill any offspring than let one live, I believed every word he said.
We had to get you as far away from here as we could before Jami figured out who you were." Nancy says as tears stream from her eyes. "Harry you have no idea how hard it was for me to see you go down the path you went when Jackie was taken from you. And you Jackie, the heart wrenching letters I'd get from Janey telling how you withdrawn you were, not making new friends, staying in your room. And then to find out about her and Steve's fighting, his cheating, them trying to put you in the middle of it all. All I wanted to do was make your life better, but I ended up almost distroying both of yours instead." Nancy cries. "I'm so sorry."
"I can't deal with all this right now." Jackie chokes out.
"It's fine, I understand." Nancy says as she stands up and walks out of the office.
"Come on, let's go." Harry says as he takes Jackie's hand, locks the door to his office, walks her to her office so she could get her purse and jacket. Harry then took her keys, locked her door. Harry leads Jackie to his car, buckles her in then drives off.
"Where are you taking me?" Jackie asks.
"You'll see, just sit back and trust me." Harry says as he picks her hand up and kisses it.
"Haz, you should know by now I trust you with my life." Jackie says as lays back and closes her eyes, proving what she just she said.
Ten minutes later Harry parks his car as close as he can to where he's wanting to take Jackie, turning, he looks at her and smiles. "Hey babe wake up, we're here." Harry says as he kisses her neck.
Jackie slowly opens her eyes and sees the old trail she and Harry found years ago leading to a hidden waterfall. "Jesus, Harry." Jackie chokes out. "Why are you doing this to me?" Jackie asks as she takes Harry's hand and let's him pull her from the car.
"Just come on, there's something I want to show you." Harry says as he leads her down the pathway.
When they get to the small pond the waterfall empties into Jackie could see where Harry had cleared out around it. On one side he set up a small picnic area with small gas lanterns hanging from shepherds hooks and a picnic table. On the other side, amongst the trees he built a small cabin.
"Holy shit, did you remember everything we used dream about doing together?" Jackie asks, jumping into Harry's arms.
"Of course I did. Liam, Louis and Niall helped build the cabin, Sam and Dani helped decorate it, other than that no other person has ever been here." Harry says. "In fact the other guys haven't been back here since we got it built. I've spent days off here, wishing you were here with me, I actually stayed here for a week during vacation once." Harry tells Jackie.
"You're telling me you never brought Kate, or any other girl you dated, here?" Jackie asks as she pulls away slightly to look at Harry.
"Nope, never. Jack this was our place, our secret." Harry says as he walks her over to the table. "Hell I didn't even want to tell the other guys about this place. But I couldn't do all this by myself, I wanted everything to be perfect, exactly like we dreamed, in case you did come home." Harry explains.
Jackie grins. "Okay, so show me the cabin." Jackie says.
Harry nods, hoping she doesn't notice how nervous he's getting.
