Sanguinem filio, sanguinem effurgarex perpetuum.
Her hands softly brushed against the icy ground on which she lay. Pain was pulsating through her body; like a liquid metal flowing through her veins, as it consumed every one of her movements.

Sanguinem filio, sanguinem effurgarex perpetuum.
That was the last thing that Lily Lane had heard before she completely blacked out.
At this moment in time, she wasn't sure where she was, but the girl somehow knew that she was farther away from home than she had ever been; she could just feel the anxiety clawing at her heart.

Sanguinem filio, sanguinem effurgarex perpetuum.
Memories came flooding back to her as she began to recall how she came to be in this particular situation. A coven. The Gemini coven, to be specific. They had sent her somewhere; she just had to find out where exactly.

Lily inhaled lightly before fluttering her eyes open, the mellifluous waves of the honey-coloured sun immediately beaming down onto her porcelain skin. She could make out the shadows of trees that were gently swaying in the gentle breeze.
Am I in heaven? she thought, using all of her willpower to haul herself up off of the ground; making herself extremely dizzy in the process.
"Or maybe I'm in Hell," she muttered under her breath. Although beaming sunlight and swaying trees weren't exactly synonymous with Hell.

Phesmatos filio, pheamatos effurgarex perpetuum.
When she first awoke, a cacophany of indistinct sounds blanketed her hearing, but the sounds had now transcended into peaceful harmony as the girl took in the cheerful chirping of birds and the soft susurration of leaves. She inhaled deeply as a wave of tranquility washed over her - something she had not felt for a long time.
A sullen humming sound alerted Lily from her daze. She swiftly stood up, spinning round to meet the gaze of a young man around her age.

"Oh, hello," the male voice drawled out, a hint of elation in his voice.
She batted her eyelashes instinctively and remained silent, taking in his confident aura and attractive facial features.
"What, do I not get a hello back?" he smirked, quirking an eyebrow inquisitively.
His eyes bore intimidatingly into her, making me her a little uneasy.

The young man had an eager twinkle in his eyes and a voice that was more warm than sunlight. Lily usually liked that - smiling back and enjoying an exchange of words - yet his one had an air of power, of total confidence. There was something in the way he looked at her too, like he was doing so much more than just taking in her form like others do. It was like he was trying to decipher everything about her, all whilst having that same charming yet unsettling grin on his face.

A heavy silence settled over the two, thicker than the uneasy tension in the atmosphere.
"Sorry - who are you?" Lily spoke softly. To the boy, who had not seen or heard from a living soul for countless years, her voice sounded oddly comforting to him. It gave him a sense of home, almost. Something they both hadn't been familiar with for a long time.

"Oh, manners. I'm Kai. Kai Parker," he finally answered, shrugging his shoulders impassively. "If you were going to ask me where you are, you're in Portland. And as for why you're here..." he trailed off, tilting his head to the side and smirking.
His eyes were fixated on the girl; examining her every movement.
"You tell me."
