EMILY'S POV
I walked into the Nicu nursery and saw the little bed with her name on it. I immediately sped over to her and pick her up.
"Hello my beautiful girl." I say as I see Alison look at us with awe in her eyes.
"Okay okay. I birthed her, hand her over." She says as she smiles and winks at me. I walk over, careful with the fragile child and lay her in Ali's arms.
"Hello sweetheart." I hear Ali say as I turn around to face her. I am now sitting in the chair across from her. I pull out my phone and take a picture.
First time seeing mommy! #blessed #once-in-a-lifetime
I out my phone in my lap and look towards Greyson and Alexandra. Alexandra is sound asleep, but Greyson looks like he about to cry so I walk over and pick him up. I get a bottle out of the diaper bag and then sit back down in the chair. I feed him and he goes to sleep in my arms.
The nurse walks in with Faith's discharge papers. Ali takes them out of her hands and signs them.
"You ready to go?" Ali asks me.
"Yeah, Faith dressed?" I asked.
"Yea, he done eating?" She asks, pointing to Greyson. I lift him up and burp him.
"Yep. Let us leave!" I say in a British accent as I lay Grey back down into his car seat. Ali picks Faith up and puts her in the car seat and grabs the diaper bag. I pick up Alexandra's car seat as well as Greyson and follow her out of the room.
We get to the car and buckle all three babies in. I sit in the driver's seat and Ali in the passenger. She looks at me and sighs.
"What's wrong?" I ask.
"I keep asking myself, 'How the hell did I get this lucky?' But for some reason, I can't understand." She says as she looks down at her hands.
"Babe." I say as I pull her hands into mine. "Look at me." She looks at me. "I'm the lucky one." I say as I kiss her.
She smiles into the kiss and pulls back. She just smiles as she lays her head on the headrest. "Ready to go home?" She asks.
"Yea, let's go." I say as I put the car into reverse and grab her hand.
Come home early after class
Don't be hanging 'round the back of the schoolyard
I've been called up by a teacher
She says she can't even reach you 'cause you're so far
You've been talking with your fist
We didn't raise you up like this, now did we
There have been changes in this house
Things that you don't know about in this familyIt don't make sense, but nevertheless
You gotta believe us, it's all for the best
It don't make sense
The way things go
Son you should knowSometimes moms and dads fall out of love
Sometimes two homes are better than one
Some things you can't tell your sister 'cause she's still too young
Yeah you'll understand
When you love someoneThere ain't no one here to blame
Nothing's going to change with your old friends
Your room will stay the same
'Cause you'll only be away on the weekendsIt don't make sense but nevertheless
You gotta believe us, it's all for the best
It don't make sense
It don't add up
We'll always love you no matter whatSometimes moms and dads fall out of love
Sometimes two homes are better than one
Some things you can't tell your sister 'cause she's still too young
Yeah you'll understand
When you love someone
When you love someoneCome home early after class
Don't be hanging 'round the back of the schoolyard
And if we're crying on the couch
Don't let it freak you out
This has been so hardSometimes moms and dads fall out of love
Sometimes the best intentions just ain't enough
Some things you can't tell your sister 'cause she's still too young
Yeah you'll understand
When you love someoneI pull up to the house and look over at my beautiful, sleeping girlfriend. I really am hoping she will be my wife one day. I can see us together, getting married, the three little ones running around calling both of us mommy. I can see exactly where I want to be. And it's with her in my arms.
I get out and take our bags inside. I walk back out and grab the three car seats. Oh boy how hard it will be if one of us has all three children. Carrying three car seats is very difficult. I walk back outside and turn the car off. I put the keys in my pocket and go around to her side, I open the door and pick her up, bridal style. I carry her inside and walk up to our room. I lay her on the bed and go to our dresser. I pick out a pair of sweatpants and a matching sports bra. I carefully undress her and lay her in the bed. I cover her up and then go into the kids' rooms. I dress each of them into a matching pair of footie pajamas and bring them all into our bedroom. I lay them on our bed and set up the pack'n'play. I put it beside our bed and lay them in it. I then get myself into some pajamas, big t-shirt and shorts, as always. I lay beside Ali and wrap my arms around her.
ALISON'S POV
I feel a strong arm wrapped around me and automatically know who it belongs to. Emily. My Emily. All the day's events run through my mind as I remember that Faith is home tonight, it's her first night home. I turn around, now facing Emily and kiss her nose. Her eyes flutter open and she speaks. "I thought you were asleep." I giggle.
"I was. I woke up once I felt your big, strong, protective arms around me." I say as I poke her muscles. I blushes.
"I'm sorry I woke you." She says as she looks down.
"No, don't worry. Faith?" I question.
"Yea she's right behind me in the pack'n'play thing. Along with Greyson and Alexandra." She says. Gah, she thinks of everything. I love her so much.
"I love you so much." I say as I smile and kiss her forehead.
"I love you too, Al" She says. She lays on her back and I lay with my head on her chest, right arm draped across her stomach, and my leg across both of hers.
I lay, rubbing circles on her stomach for a while before her breathing steadiesand I know she's asleep. I look over to our sleeping children and soon fallasleep, picturing my future with her
