The rest of class flew by quickly and for once Ellie actually paid attention. She was very happy that her last class of the day was English, so she would get to go home soon.

"Class, you have behaved very well, I will be sure to leave a positive note for the teacher," Ms. Jones said. The bell rang shortly after she finished talking. "Oh, I forgot, Ms. Malcolm, if you would remain after the bell, it would be greatly appreciated."

"Yes, Ms. Jones," Ellie said as she packed up her things.

Grover didn't trust Ms. Jones. He thought there was something weird about her, something... dangerous. He wasn't sure if she was a monster, but he definitely didn't trust her.

"I'll wait outside for you, Ellie. Shout if you need me," Grover said.

"Okay, Grover," Ellie said.

Grover walked outside the classroom and Ellie looked at Ms. Jones. "Am I in trouble?" She asked.

"No, you aren't. I just need to know a few things," Ms. Jones said.

"Of course, I'm an open book. Just ask away," Ellie said.

"Alright, well, Ms. Malcolm, do you know your father?" Ms. Jones asked.

Ellie was stunned; she didn't think that the substitute would know that she didn't know her father. How could the substitute know that? She didn't really tell anyone she didn't know her dad, so she had no idea how the substitute could know that. "No, I don't, how did you know that?"

"I know all about you, Ellie Malcolm. I've been looking for you for a long time," Ms. Jones said.

Ellie didn't have a good feeling about what was happening. She didn't think Ms. Jones actually worried about her, she felt like she was talking down to her. It sounded as if Ms. Jones was taunting her. Ellie needed to get out of there.

She frantically picked up her bag and ran out of the room. Grover tried to run after her, but couldn't because he had to keep up his cover. He went after her as fast as he could.

"Ellie! Why are you running?" Grover shouted after her.

Ellie kept running until she was out of the school. When she finally got out of the school, she stopped. Grover finally got to her.

"Ellie, why did you sprint out of the classroom?" Grover asked,

"Grover, she knew about my dad. How could she have known about my dad? Only a few people know about my dad!" Ellie freaked out. How could the substitute have known about her dad? She shouldn't have known about her not knowing her dad.

"This isn't good.We need to go to your mother's house, like now," Grover said.

The two hurried to Ellie's mother's house. When they got inside, Grover shut the door and pushed something against it.

Ellie's mom wasn't there. She was gone. Ellie was freaking out.

"Grover, my mom isn't here. She isn't here," Ellie said.

Grover groaned. This was not good, not good at all. "Pack some clothes and shoes in a bag, and any other products you might need, but leave your technology here. I cannot emphasize this enough. Do not bring your technology with you."

Ellie was worried about why he said that, but she just did what he said. She was freaking out too much to worry about that.

She grabbed a bag and shoved clothes and other necessary items in it. She walked back to Grover. "I'm ready," She said, turning back to the house she made so many memories in.

The two exited the apartment and went down to the sidewalk.

"I hope you are ready to do some walking because where we are going is pretty far away," Grover said.

"Why don't we just take the bus?" Ellie said.

"There isn't a bus that goes to where we have to go," Grover said.

"Then why don't we take a bus to somewhere near where we need to go and just walk the rest of the way?" Ellie suggested.

"That'll have to work," Grover said.
