Toronto was just three hours away. I was seated in the plane excited and nervous at the same time. My heart was beating faster and I could hear it in my ears through the silence around me. The only thought disturbing me right now... I hope nothing turns out to be what dad used to say!  I do not want it to be that way, never. I just wanted to prove him wrong in this matter.

Soon I was on the Toronto lands. I now had to find a cheap motel to stay in for the rest of the night. I found one soon, and it was, fortunately, just a few blocks away from the McKenzie Studios. The rooms weren't so bad, just what I needed.

After setting up myself in the room, I called up at the studio and confirmed my meeting with Mr. Ford, the Assistant Manager of the Studio. My meeting was scheduled at 9 AM, the next day. I was ready to start the new adventure I had taken up with life.

The next morning I woke up just on time. I had to get ready with my documents, my song book and some recordings fromt he shows that I had done at the school and social funcyions in the town. That's when I had met Mr. Ford the first time, at my friend Kelly' s parents' anniversary. She had asked me to sing a song for them at the do. Mr. Ford was a friend to Kelly's dad.

I was ready and on my way to the Studio and I recalled the talk Mr. Ford and I had for the first time:

"Hi. I listened to you on the stage. You sing good."

"Thank you." I smiled.

"May I know who wrote the song?"

"That would be me."

"Wow. They were incredible."

"Thank you once again."

"Well, I'm Owen Ford, Assistant Manager at the McKenzie Studios." He said as he produced a car before me from one of his pockets. "We are looking for a song-writer for some of our artists. And since I see you got an amazing talent with writing a song, I'd like you to come and visit us at the Studio."

I looked up at him, totally surprized and dumbstruck. I didn't know what to say at that moment. I wanted to scream but my mouth would not open even an inch. The inner side of me was dancing and skipping all around.

I finally gathered myself and said, "Good to meet you. sir. Uh... can you give me about ten-fifteen minutes to think over this news? I am just a second year college student, so I need some time to think."

"Of course. Sure."

"I'll get back to you soon." I walked away. I searched for Edie all around and I found him having a talk with one of the guys of our school. I went staright to him.

"Hi Jake." I smiled at the guy. I turned to Edie and said, "Edie, can I have a talk with you right now? It's kinda important."

He looked at me puzzled, as if wondering what was wrong. He said, "Sure." He then turned to Jake and said, "Hey, I'll see you around." Jake walked away.

Edie asked, "What is it?"

"Edie, I just met Mr. Ford, Assistant Manager of the McKenzie Studios and he said they're looking for a song-writer for some of their new artists."

"Okay. So?"

I pulled up my eyebrow and gave him a look. "Idiot! Think! The studio is looking for a song-writer and he talked to me. He said I've got an amazing talent with the song-writing and wants me to visit them!"

"Whoa! OH! This is a news, Lizzie! Whoa! So? What do you wanna do?"

"I'm not sure. What do you think?"
