Dean woke up the next morning, tangled up in you. He smiled at the sight of having you in his arms.
He slid slowly from the sheets and went to the next room to check on his little brother.
- "Hey Sammy, how it went?" he entered the room with a smirk. "My date went incredible" he sat by the edge of the bed.
- "Great. So it was a date, huh?" Sam teased him.
- "Shut up" he rolled his eyes.
- "I think I found us a case, a salt and burn it kind of thing. We could be there by midnight" the youngest Winchester commented as he read an article from his computer.
- "Sweet, I'll go get (Y/N)" Dean stood up and headed to the door but was stopped by his little brother.
- "Hey Dean?" he turned around to meet his eyes, the door slightly opened. "When are you planning to tell her?". Dean looked down, a shot of guilt and shame ran through his bloodstream. He hadn't forgotten about the deal, about the fact that he had an expiration date and that date was getting closer with every passing day.
- "Soon, Sam. I'll..." he was stopped once again.
- "Because we have time now Dean. She can help us fix this, we can focus our full attention on this".
- "No, not a chance. I've told you this already, we fix this and you die okay? That was the deal and we're sticking to it!" Dean snapped. Silence took over the room.
- "Would it be that bad if I died and everything went back like it was supposed to happen? You had nothing left to lose back then, you have (Y/N) now" Sam stated in a lower voice, water in his eyes.
- "I can't do this without you Sammy, come on. You know that" Dean was holding his tears as well.
- "Yes you can Dean! You're not alone anymore" Sam exclaimed.
- "Well maybe I don't want to, okay? I don't want to do it".
- "So the rest of us have to watch you die and just suck it up, huh? That's fantastic Dean. What a great train of thought" Sam gruffed, as mad as he could possibly be. "Look, you need to tell her, end of story. Doesn't matter how much you're trying to avoid it, you need to tell her".
- "Tell me what?" you pushed the door as you heard the brothers argue. Lucky for them, you didn't hear much of it.
- "Sam found a case. Are you in?" Dean turned to meet you, faking a little smile, wishing you didn't notice the water and sadness behind his eyes.
- "Like you have to ask" you joked with your arms crossed. "I'll go packing" you said walking away. Dean's eyes stuck to where you had just been standing, then turning to his brother again.
- "I'll tell her Sam, sooner than you think. Just give me a little time. I just... I just got her okay? I don't want to ruin it" he sincerely confessed. His brother nodded with still rage in his stare.
・・・
Your relationship with Dean grew faster than you could've imagined. He told you all about his life, his fears, his dreams, his feelings and the burden that came along with them. He reminded you more than once that he didn't do it that often, in fact, he had never opened up with someone before but with you things were already different. He made you feel special.
You on the other hand, had a lot of trouble telling your story. It wasn't that you wouldn't trust him, god, on the contrary you were just ashamed of your past and didn't want him to think less of you or scare him away.
Two months later and you had found a vampire nest that needed to be taken care of but to your surprise, the hunt took a lot more than usual, two weeks and counting, to be more precise.
As it turned out, the nest was a lot bigger than what you thought it would be and it had been functioning almost like a headquarters. You had to be extremely careful otherwise the word would get around and they would pack and leave as soon as possible.
You had killed almost the whole nest except the ones in charge and now, it was time to finish what you started. All three of you headed to the barn in the outskirts of town where the boss lived. You overheard him having a heated argument, completely losing it when he find out there were hunters hot on their tails.
You noticed the only way to enter the place was through a little window and you pointed out to the boys. Dean yelled-whispered in denial but it was your only chance, it was way too suicidal to enter the front door with guns blazing.
Sam lifted you up enough so you could enter and as your boots reached the ground, you immediatly did your best to stay as quiet as possible. Walking through the place, you found one of the bedrooms, you opened the window to let the boys enter and it was showtime.
The fight got heavy in just a matter of seconds.
They were a lot more than you expected but you put a good fight. After fighting one of them on the floor and finally get him off, you stood up noticing they had a little girl with them, no more than 12 years old. She had been turned into one of them. She came to you with a strength you didn't know she could have and started fighting her, although every cell of your body was telling you she was just a girl. The place got more silent as there were less and less vampires in the room and just like that, you got her with your machette ending her misery.
You fell to your knees, blood on your hands, shirt, bruises, wounds on your lips and your fists. You were a mess, so were the boys but somehow you were completely out of it. You had just killed a little girl, again.
Dean came over to help you but you declined his help. You wanted... no, you needed to be alone.
