"Wait... What...?" I said rubbing my eyes. "Elizabeth????? What are you doing in my room?"

"Wake up sleeping beauty, we are in Paris to remind you, get up at be ready in 10, its 8:30 now, meet me by the lawns at 8:45. Move now." She said and left the door banging behind her.

And everything came rushing back to me; Jake, Ted, the flight and... Paris!

I looked out of the French windows, oh my god. There was the Eiffel tower. Glistening with all its pride as the sun rays fell on it. Absolutely beautiful.

I looked around my room, it was a mixture of old rustic French decor and modern art striking the perfect balance.

I got out of bed and had a quick shower and grabbed whatever came to my hand out of my luggage. Blue denims, white full sleeves top and a dull red jacket with stilettos, I guess this should be fine for Elizabeth. It should be, it has cost Ted quite a fortune. I dabbed on some make up and left.

The lawns were scenic, lush green with shades of reds, pinks, oranges and yellows. There was a table set up right in the centre and Elizabeth and Ted were already there.

"Is that a Vera Wang top?" Elizabeth's mouth popped out.

"Umm... yeah.."

"How on earth could you afford it? I was looking out for a similar one for me... And here you are wearing it!"

"My friend works there and she got it for free... there was a minor problem with the tag on it.. that's why." I lied. No way on earth could Elizabeth know what was happening?

"Whatever, loosen up the hair. Ok, so listen now, the fundraiser is being organized by Panache as you are aware of, since we are tied up with the company and you know Ted, its your responsibility to represent the company. Obviously I am going to be there, but I shall be busy with all the V.VIP's. So you have of take care of everything, right from the minor ones to the major ones." Elizabeth said.

"What exactly am I supposed to do..?" I asked her, being completely clueless.

"Stick around with Ted and he will guide you, as for now come with me, we have a meeting." She instructed and I followed her.

We had a meeting in the restaurant itself which got winded by 1 PM. The fundraiser was tomorrow evening and I still couldn’t figure out as to why did Elizabeth bring me to Paris.

"I'm taking you on a tour baby, come." Ted appeared out of nowhere and grabbed my hand after everyone had left.

"Woaah.. first of all I'm not your baby..."

"You're mine for the next today and the next 3 days, don't you forget that.... baby." Ted said.

"Fine. Just let me make a phone call."

"Phone call to Jake?" He asked.

"Why do you bother?" I replied fetching for my phone.

"Well, actually you should bother, because as far as I know he is not in New York."

"Ha. I know that, he is in LA for work."

"Baby, I'm so sorry to disappoint you, but he is not in LA as well."

"Says who?" I questioned him.

"Says my source." Ted said and showed me a picture of Jake at JFK.

"That's all? Seriously?''

"Wait baby.." He started swiping the screen and another picture came up. It was Jake at the check-in counter. I zoomed the picture. New York to London.

'What the...?"

"I know. I hope you are satisfied and clear now. Shall we enjoy whilst in Paris?"

I nodded in dismay.

London? London? Why on earth did Jake go to London? Why did he lie to me? Had we grown that far apart that he had to lie to me? Why did I let it grow so much? Why did I let my ego come in the middle? Who the fuck gives a shit whether he makes the first move or she? How did I let this happen to me? I was never like this. Ever. They say people change, but so much that they actually shed off their ideologies and become someone they vowed never to be?

Back when we were in high school and Jake saved me from the entire Ted episode we started hanging out. I belonged to the popular clique and Jake was a thing lanky nerd who no one ever really bothered about. And I fell in love with him. This may sound extremely typical but he loved me back for who I was and not what others portrayed me as. After school we went to college together and continued going crazy about each other. He went to law school and I went to business. On the day of my graduation, he proposed.

But this proposal was different. It wasn't any candle light dinner or preplanned crap. We were strolling down at night and he suddenly popped out the question.

"Marry me Kylie. Right here. Right now. Just marry me. I'm not asking you, I'm ordering you."

"Hahaha, you're supposed to be asking Jake. All polite and manly."

"Shut up and marry me."

"Okay, but where is the ring?"

Jake pulled out grass from the side and joint it together somehow, he kissed it and put in my finger.

"Here."

And that was it.

"What is it you're waiting for? Get in the car." Ted said breaking my mind as it swirled in with the best memory ever.
