Poem 12: Slightly Abrupt

In a world so back, so white,

The experience of color so slight.

They say your soulmate you must meet,

Yet there's a catch, but color you will see.

In a place so corrupt,

Where we lie so abrupt,

When you meet, how will you know?

A touch with your fingers, and your hands will glow.

Pretty colors, pretty colors,

And you're now full of wonder.

In a world so black, so white,

The experience of color so slight.

You're in love, do they see it too?

Color should be running through the both of you.

Do you see it, baby?

They haven't felt much love lately.

What're you meaning?

They ask, wonder beaming.

They don't love you back,

They're stuck in a world white and black.
